This is not 100% correct. In the parks you need the card but I am sure the CM can type in the card number if you show it in your app, but I have not tried this. The new DTD location not only can you use the app to pay, so no card needed, but you can redeem rewards there. You can not redeem in the parks. Hope that helped.

The Starbucks locations in the parks are Disney restaurants serving Starbucks drinks and food. That's why some things work (like earning stars), but other things don't (like redeeming rewards). The Starbucks in DtD is run by Starbucks, so the app, etc. should work just like at any other location. But because the DtD location is not Disney run, there is no AP discount offered there. Sigh...

I think when FFP first opened it did not have scanners. But sometime between then and now they got scanners. Pretty sure when we visited right after BVS opened I had to use my card because they didn't have scanners. But now they do

This is what I recall too.
I had to use the card when it first opened, but they got scanners later on.

The scanners aren't sitting right there in view. I know they have been in use for over a year as I used it for the Tink 5K a year ago. I was the only person in the place at 6am and didn't have any cash and could only pay with my phone.

I've used the app at both the Starbucks at DL and DCA. I vaguely remember not being able to use the app at DCA when it first opened, but I know I used it the last few trips (at least since October 2013). I've only ever used the app at the Main Street location, so perhaps that one opened with the scanners in place. Either way, it's nice not having to carry the gift card around.

Little confused. When I add money to my app, I just click reload and have it add the funds. You can go to the Starbucks adn have them add cash?

Yes. They don't have them sitting there like at a normal store. They pick up the scanner and point it.

Yes you can. Sometimes we have cash in hand, but want to earn stars. So we add that cash to the card (though I have no idea where the actual CARD is, LOL) and then pay for what we're ordering. Why miss out on perks?

You can also do it online.
You can do it online, in store or with the app. And I think over the phone. There are many ways to give starbucks your money. They don't make it hard
