Ok, Starwood experts- I booked 2/4-2/10 using teacher disc. rate at Dolphin. I should have about 10,000 starpoints accrued by then. How would you spend them? Would I be able to upgrade to Club level or balcony or club privileges...? 1st stay at the Dolphin and I'm not really familiar with room types, etc. On SPG website, my res is for std. room w/limited view. Also, should I call ahead (5 days) and try to upgrade by phone or wait until I get to the front desk. I seem to recall reading here that if I upgrade by phone, its 1,000 pts. per night but if I upgrade at the desk, its 1,200? (I could be wrong, I don't really remember where I saw that). The SPG website doesn't give a whole lot of specifics re: pts redemption. I would really be interested in how you starwood experts would redeem that number of pts. I know some of you have gotten pretty creative in the past
