Starwood Platinum member, staying at the Swan question...

We will be staying at the swan the first week of October. My husband is a Platinum Starwood member, at other Starwood hotels he gets automatically upgraded to Concierge or Suite level - will it be the same at the Swan, or will he have to cash in points?

My DH is also Platinum and we have been on club level both times. We also recieved a small welcome gift (we choose the candy jar). This was even combined with the teacher rate! I just love the Swan and Mama T is the best in the lounge. I think the official word is that you will be given the best available room at check in, but he has always been given club priviliges whenever he is at any Starwood Hotel. Enjoy!

I am a SPG Platinum as well. You can read about your benefits here. Club level privileges are automatic so you may be better off asking for an upgraded room even if not on the Club floor. You may score a better upgrade that way. You should also be given an amenity card upon check in where you choose your own amenity. IMHO all the choices pale in comparison to 500 bonus starpoints which I can use for future travel. I can buy my own candy for alot cheaper and get exactly what I want.
