starwars weekends

has anyone heard anything about the star wars weekends for this year ?? we are trying to figure out if we can go..just wanted to know if anyone knows any dates yet..

I've read that it is weekends April - June, but nothing official from what I can tell. Would like to know too!

Historically, it's been for 4 weekends: the last 2 weekends in May and the 1st 2 weekends in June...last year, with the last SW movie coming out, etc., they extended it for all of June. I don't believe it's ever been in April.

yea hubby and i were there last year when anikan was there...it was soo cool..and to see darth vader come out..it gave me chills..we wanna go back and take the kids this time....wish i knew when the dates would come out...guess we could call and ask..

We're planning for June '06, had hoped to catch it for the 3rd weekend in June (6/17 & 6/18), but we've been told that SW was "extended" an additional week in '05 to include the 2nd week in June.

We were there last June from the 14th-20th and they had extended the weekends my hubby was THRILLED, I tell ya. We are going again this year from the 14th-21st and hoping for the same!

yea yea it was crazy..last year we went and we were walking down towards star tours and there off to the left was anakin and some lady...i had to look like 4 times and i had to walk up to see that it was really him....i couldnt believe it...

So is it only on the weekends? Nothing going on during the week? We will be there the first week of June, but not on the weekend.

So they have special items you can buy? Star Wars stuff? My DD's friend is really crazy about Star Wars so we thought she could get him something special from the Star Wars events during June.

We were there last June and it was AWESOME! Seeing Chewie, Mace and others was great too. My toddler was a bit scared of Vader, though. LOL The parade was great...brought back tons of memories. DH went crazy buying toys as well. LOL

DNeph (8) and I went to SWW last June and had an amazing time !! Thanks to all the info here on the DIS and on QuickGold's site (a DIS poster) http://www.mgmstudios.org/ (lots of pictures and reviews), he was able to battle Darth Maul and participate in the kid's trivia contest. We loved the SW version of WWTBAM and spent lots of time getting autographs and pics with all of the SW characters. The 'weekend' runs from Friday through Sun. We loved it so much DSis just agreed to let me take him out of school for a few days again this year - it was HOT!, it was CROWDED, but we still had FUN ! - I'm anxiously waiting for this year's dates to be posted!! - if you're a SW fan, don't miss the morning parade - everyone is in it!!

I took DS last year the first weekend in June. This year when we went, he was a moderate SW fan. This year, he is over the top. He has seen all six movies a zillion times, owns multiple light sabers, ships, all the characters, etc. I'm crossing my fingers that they will extend it through the June 23rd weekend, but I'm not optimistic. Last year he met Luke, Leia, Chewie and Jedi Mickey. We were headed to meet Boba Fett and the skies opened up. Keeping my fingers crossed for the end of June.

My 8 year old is SOOOOO into Star Wars now!!! This would be awesome for him. Is it all over the parks or only in MGM? Sorry, I have no clue on this one!!!

I love Star Wars Weekends!
I'm trying to convince my parents to take my sister and I down to one this year. I'm calling it my graduation from college present. They haven't bought it yet.
However, the King Tut exhibt opening in Chicago around that time is also calling my name.

I try to always plan my trips to be the same time as Star Wars weekend. I was there in June 14-15 of 03 and May 29-30 of 05 and both were SW Weekends. This year my trip is May 27-June 4 which will include two weekends, so if they are not having it one of those two weekends, I'll be rather upset.

We plan our June trips around at least one SW Weekend. This next one we'll be lucky enough to be there for two. In the words of Ep. 1 Anakin - "Yippee!"
