OK, I have been meaning to do this for awhile but.... life has gotten in the way. I am taking my pictures out of the old, non acid free photo albums and I'm going to scrap them into new, acid-free albums. I am starting with 1996.......It looks like it's going to be a long winter......;-)

I have all of my supplies and I just need to sit down and start!

but you can do it!!! You go girl! Just think of how much fun you will have reliving those moments.

Thanks! I was just looking at those pictures and it seems like it was just a year or two ago. I'm in no rush to get them done but I do have an opportunity to work on it several hours a week so I'll just start at square one........just wish I knew then what I know now about the acid free , etc.

I took apart about 15 of those stick down type albums. Right now they are all in a CM power sort box in order waiting for me to get them back into albums. I did get my wedding, and my dating albums redone after 25years. That was fun. The only good thing was that even back then I was big on writing the date and event done on paper and including it in the album. Makes it much easier to redo the old albums.

Except for 1996 I could have written these words :)! My old photos go back to the 1960s & 1970s. I have been slowly scrapping these photos & events for a few years now. It is a lot of work, but it is fun, too. I have sent emails to family & friends asking what they remember about certain events. Then I inculde those comments in the journaling of that time. It is wonderful to remember those special people, places, events, etc. Have fun!!

This is what I am planning on working on this winter when I have a few minutes. I also want to go through my mom's photos and make a memory book for her with her siblings and other important pics. :flower:

I think we all agree -- it's something that NEEDS to be done. But I also think it will be so much fun and if I can take the time to journal and do it right, it will be so great for future generations to have. ;-)

I find that it works better for me to work backwards. I keep up to date with my current album and whenever I have the time, work backwards and I'm back to 1992! I always felt that if I started with my wedding 26 years ago, I'd never catch up to the present but by working backwards, I look at it as I've done 13 years worth of scrapping and I still have the present done. You have to remember that the most recent is what is going to be freshest in your mind.

maybe I should start with 2004 then......... I think I will! I'm starting tonight so I'll start with 2004.

I don't know about you guys, but I never scrap the current year. Just as soon as I do, wonderful people send me more pictures and then I have to re-do.....
