Our first trip home turned out ok but started bad. My wife's great uncle died the day before we were to leave. We decided to go ahead and go and just return a day early for the funeral. As we were getting out of the airport park and ride shuttle we learned that one of my mother-in-law's sisters had died. My wife's parents would not be meeting us in Disney. My parents were already there because they had gone down a few days early to visit other family.

I had booked a studio and a 2 bedroom. We ended up keeping the 2 bedroom and just letting the studio and points go.

Fast forward to today.

We are scheduled to leave Friday. My 13 month old son has a 103.5 degree temperature. We think he is just teething and he has 4 days to get better; but...........

I just have a 2 bedroom reserved this time.

My use year is October and I am using a mixture of banked points from 2002 and points from 2003.

Would the points go into a holding account? How does that work?

The main point of this trip was for me to run the half marathon. Even if I don't get to run maybe at least we can have a vacation later?

Cancellations 30 days or less go into holding. Holding account points can only be reserved 60 days before arrival and expire at the end of your use year. So you would have to use them by September 30. For example - if you decided to go in August, you could only make a reservation 60 days ahead in June.

I hope everything works out! :D

Regardless of banking and borrowing, the cancellation deals with the reservation date. Therefor, you will have until Sept. 30 to use any holding points (if you cancel) from this trip. You can only book 60 days out from departure.

Good luck
Sandy

I would call MS and see how things go - I think you get a once in a contract lifetime exemption from restrictions and they can move your points for you???

I could be totally wrong but I think fot a bonafide medical reason they might have some flexibility for you

Just back from the doctor, he has an awful ear infection. Some antibiotics and he should be fine by Friday.:bounce:

Be sure to take your son back to the doctor before you fly, and have him checked. Don't forget to tell the doctor that you will be flying, and when. Otherwise, you will have a really miserable baby on your flight. I did that one year--I sat there and cried, my ear hurt so bad. The stewardesses took turns heating towels in the microwave for me, but it was still bad. Never again--this year I made sure to hit the doctor's before my flight, and the antibiotics and decongestant worked.;)

Hope your little one gets better soon. And that you have a great trip this time.

If you haven't already, check out EarPlanes. They are a product that helps prevent ear problems with airplane pressure changes. They make them for kids and adults. Ask your Doctor if they are OK to use for your child. Yu can find them in most drug stores and they really work!

Good luck!

Pixie Dust and Prayers headed your way for your little one. Hope all works out well for going on the trip.::yes::
