Today is November 25th, and on December 25th my wife and I will arrive at BCV for our first Christmas trip to WDW! We'll be joined a little later by my sister who has never been to WDW. She is flying in from NYC. It's her 60th birthday on the 22nd, and we thought she needed a reminder that she's not old - what better place to rejuvinate? I can't wait to see her face when she walks into the Beach Club lobby!! I'm sure she expects it to be nice, but I doubt that she expects what she'll find upon arrival. She has been to Disneyland in California (about five years ago), but I'm sure that a visit there does not adequately prepare one for what you'll find in Florida. We have a Cape May Cafe PS for the evening of the 25th, and a Candlelight Processional PS to eat in Germanyon the 27th. She will not be staying for the entire rental period, and therefore doesn't qualify for the DVC park pass. (She's departing on the 29th; wife and I will leave on the 2nd to drive back to PA) I'm getting a 4 day Park Hopper from AAA unless one of you thinks that there is a better discount available elsewhere. (?????) We're not interested in any plusses, as my wife and I both have regular annual passes. Any advice from those of you who have been to WDW over the holidays? It'll add to my anticipation just reading your replies!!!

I haven't been during the holidays....just wanted to wish you a safe trip and a wonderful holiday vacation! :)

How exciting! I hope when I'm 60 my brother is trying to make my day!

How nice! I hope the crowds don't get to be too much for her at this busy time! I sure would not want my first trip to be the busiest week of the year! It will be very festive though, and if she understands that it isn't always that way, perhaps she will join you again some time. My DSIL and family went down during the holidays about 10 years ago, and they were so discouraged, they have never returned, no matter how much we have coaxed them!

I told her to expect crowds, and we're certainly going to avoid commando-type touring. We may not even venture into the Magic Kingdom until she heads back to NYC. I think we'll visit as many of the other resorts as practical to see the decorations (and awe her in general), and do mostly fastpass attractions in the parks. Maybe my wife and I will never want to return at Christmas either, but I doubt it. That's a huge advantage of DVC and an annual pass - we can enter a park, say nah - not today, and figure there'll be many more magical opportunities.

Oh, I am sure all of you will LOVE it! We have never been during the Holiday, but have arrived as eary as Dec. 30 and loved the NYE celebration at Epcot for the Millennium! Now THAT was CROWDED!:crowded:
