Started doing atkins on June 3rd...

My DH has lost over 10 lbs and I have lost 9.

Does this seem on track or am I missing something.

We have decided to stay in induction for 2 extra weeks...I am lactose intolerant and mildly alergic to eggs, DH is alergic to peppers, onions and mushrooms.


I have only weighed myself twice...

I have set a mini goal of 20 lbs or one pant size by the end of July. Is this realistic?

I also want to lose 3 pant sizes by October 28th for our vacation. Is this doable???

First!! CONGRATS on the great loss!!!! It's been my experience with low carbing (started again 2 days ago!) that you will lose a chunk the first two weeks but the remaining weeks if you stay induction will drop to a loss of 1-3 pounds a week..but your goals are doable...

Some tricks that have helped me....

When you decide to add in any carbs make it berries or nuts...try to avoid breads of many sort or anything with refined sugar in it.

Also try and make your water intake daily...I shoot for 4-5 glasses a day usually around 12 ounces...some do more but that works for me.

Try and get committed to an exercise routine...when I exercise 4-5 days a week for more than 45 minutes and do the low carb or watch what I'm eating I can't help but lose the weight...I walk 4 miles 4-5x a week and when I stick to that my clothes fit MUCH looser even though the scale may not show as much a loss as I'd have expected to be in the smaller size....everything gets toned and firm and helps you fit into smaller clothing.

I'm hoping to lose 25 pounds in the next 12 weeks....daily journaling helps also...stick with it and set up little rewards for yourself....For each 5 pounds I get to buy plants to put in my bare backyard...hopefully I'll have a blooming patch by Fall! :)
