Hi -I've just read a comment saying that if you want to avoid waiting too long at a popular restaurant then try to get an adr for the start of service.

We will be taking 2 small children with little patience ;) - we would want to eat early anyway - so my question is - Whats the earliest time for lunch and for dinner reservations? Do restaurants close between the two sittings? (i don't know if it varies between restaurants - but I was thinking of mainly the tank side seating at Coral Reef).

thanks alot - plus can you book a diver just to say 'happy vacation' ?- as we won't be there for any birthdays but its our first family trip and my 4 year old son would love it!!

Most lunches start between 11 and 12 and dinners start between 4:30 and 5:30. When you call for the ADR's, the CM should be able to tell you specific times for that restaurant.

You can also check out the hours for each restaurant which are posted here on the DIS for planning purposes. Coral reef shows: Hours: Lunch 12:00pm -3:00pm; Dinner 4:30 - 8:00pm.

Happy planning! Have a great first trip! Our first trip was this past March.

Just booked an 11:40 for Coral reef in September - times may vary according to season or attendance i suppose.;)

Especially if you are attending during free dining...I just read that Chef Mickey's is serving lunch during free dining...so it stands to reason that other restaurant hours would be longer too.

A little OT but I always packed a small bag with super secret special stuff for my DD to play with when we were at restaurants, when she was little. My theory was if she was happy I could eat in peace. That might help them with their patience.

Also most of the restaurants will bring out the kids meal immediately that can also help.
