Like another poster, I'm trying to make ressie for HRH for February 2008 and also am finding that the rates have not been set and rooms not available as yet. That being said, I did notice that value season ends the Thursday prior to Presidents Day (2007 was 2/15 so I'm assuming 2008 will be 2/14). Are the universal hotels the same as disney so that if your stay begins in a value season that is the price for all the nights following as well? Or, will 2/14 be at value and the rest of the week... be at peak? Big price difference since it is value/peak, not value/regular. Thanks. Brenda

rates are not like the way disney does them.
with disney, if you book the start of your trip in value season, that value rate continues throughout your entire stay.

at universal on site hotels, if the season changes while you are a guest at the hotel, the rate changes with the season.

i know this for a fact.

i'll be in the motherland and the darkside for 14 days in the fall. i do split trips yearly at this time.
my disney portion is totally in value season.

my universal portion at hrh only is in a portion of value season. on the 5th of october, universal rates leave the value/low season period to regular rates.
i will have to pay 3 nights at regular rate while the beginning of my stay is based on value/low rates.

if you go to the universal site for hotels, it will list the seasons and base rate for each one. universal discounts for AAA and AP holders. they also have super savers on specific dates where you don't need any certain card to get cheaper rates.

you can book your room now for universal hotel and modify it when rates come down. book rack now/ or aaa/ap/ adjust as the time gets closer.
probably 10 months out for aaa rates.

I feel your pain........I am trying to reserve or at least start comparing rates/dates for our stay Jan. 2008. Still waiting for the rates and seasons to be announced. Not sure if we are staying RPH,HRH or PBH. Knowing the rates/dates would help a lot!
I can also confirm, that the season changes (value, reg, holiday etc.......) runs per day with Loews/Universal, not like WDW. You will be charged on a daily basis per rate. Also weekends are usually higher rates. You will prob get a quote, with the highest rate listed, and some kind of note with it that reads......."seasonal rate changes may apply" or something like that.

syndrome: the above are the rack rates.
i am showing this only so you can see the seasonal date periods.
since you need the seasonal dates for january, i think 2008 would follow the above pattern.

hope this helps in your planning.
btw, my rate is $229 night at hrh during regular season.
and comped to a king suite due to loews card/platinum

the above rates do not reflect AAA or AP discount rates.

Also weekends are usually higher rates.

To my knowledge, only AP rates are higher on the weekends. AAA, Supersaver, Rack rates are not. Are there other rates that increase on weekends?

the AAA rates increase also for the weekends at hrh. i use that instead of my AP for the discounts.

For real? They didn't tell me that when I booked HRH for October, so I called them, and they said my rate was a straight $242.10 for the entire stay. :confused3 We have never had the AAA rate increase over the weekend at the RPR either. Wonder what's up?

i better call them and see if there is an error.
i have a rate change from value season to regular season which starts on that weekend. they told me the weekend i am booked into will have a higher rate besides the season rate change.

thanks for the heads up. maybe i was given wrong info. even my confirming email shows the difference.

I just checked on the traveocity site, where they give you the monthly calenders with the rates listed by day. It does NOT appear that the rates change for weekends. It does show some seasonal changes, but nothing were the rate hikes up just because its the weekend.
Check it out...........

You can check the rates per month to see the seasonal shifts.
I thought the last time we stayed at RPH........the rates were higher on the weekend :confused3 ???
