I'm thinking we'll give Starring Rolls a try for lunch on our DHS day. I haven't read too much about the place though. Decent sandwiches? Are they pre-made or can you order without dressing if you would like? Where is it located at in DHS? Any thoughts? Thanks!! :goodvibes

All pre-made sandwiches and NO substitutions. They are delicious though. The desserts there are divine. It's a small place with a patio of outside seating...it is at the corner of the main street and the road that goes down to Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster.

It is definitely worth trying..it was very good!

Options are Turkey or ham sandwiches ..on focaccia bread...very very tasty.
Very good dessert options.

Now they also offer premade sushi.

It's the best counter service option in that park in my opinion for freshness and quality. Keep in mind lunch doesn't start until 11:30 and they close mid afternoon.

As the pps have said, the sandwiches are premade.

We actually skipped them and made a meal out of croissants, yogurt and fruit. Very tasty and filling. They had other pastries, as well, if you prefer muffins, bagels, danish, etc. Then we had a red velvet cheesecake cupcake to finish off the meal (I wanted the PB or butterfinger one, but was overruled by my DDs, and believe me one cupcake was more than enough!).

LOVE Starring Rolls!!!

We ate there on our last trip, Feb 2011, and it was very good. The sandwiches are premade, but large and very good. The bread is so thick you can cut away any part with a sauce on it and never know bread was missing. (see the pic. below).
But I must say the condiments they use are not over powering...as I am just a mustard girl myself and had no issue. Thought they were very good.

Is it hard to find seating on the patio? Thinking of going there mid-morning for one of those famous cupcakes I see photos of. But don't think I can walk and eat one of them!

Oh wow, thanks for the great info everyone! :) I'm thinking an early lunch. And I really appreciate you posting the photo Nadjalu. That helps tremendously!!

You are welcome. One thing I didn't see mentioned is this CS place closes early, so be aware of that. Not sure but I think by 2pm they aren't serving anymore.

Have a good time!!

We never had a problem finding a place to sit and we have always gone in the middle of the summer with LOTS of other people.

I LOVE butterfinger...and i've tried the butterfinger cupcake.....i have a massive sweet tooth....but even I thought that cupcake was a little too sweet. It was too much to be honest. So i dont think you missed out on anything.

Those sandwiches are huge!! I really want to try the red velvet and butterfinger cupcake.:woohoo:

Love love love Starring Rolls!

If you go for lunch don't wait too long - when they run out of something it's gone. We went around 2:25 one day & there were just a handful of cupcakes & pastries left. No sandwiches. When we were there in March their official closing time was 4pm.

Butterfinger Cupcake was DI-VINE. Way too rich for one person, but a good option to share. Also a word of warning - the only box they have "to go" is not large enough for the cupcakes, and it will be a hot mess until you get it back to your room!

It's right outside of Brown Derby, with outdoor patio seating only. Right after the park opens I've never been able to get a seat & the line is usually out the door. As the day goes on though, there's usually room, and if not, it's a quick place to eat, people are always finsihing up.

OMG I want to be in Starring Rolls RIGHT NOW.
