We have Starburst candies in the candy bowl on my desk this morning (I work the front desk), which got me thinking. I remember as a kid eating Starburst from the little square pack, and I could swear up & down that the standard flavors used to include LIME. Nobody else remembers this, but I just KNOW I ate LIME Starburst - I can even picture sitting on the couch at my uncle's house feeling bored out of my mind while everyone oohed and aahed over his new baby, and eating Starburst and saving all the Lime ones for last because they were my favorite. This would have been around 1982 maybe? Now the standard flavors only include strawberry, cherry, orange and lemon.

Does anyone else remember LIME Starburst or is my brain once again playing tricks on me?

Yep.

Starburst were introduced by Mars UK in 1960[1] as Opal Fruits. The four original flavors were strawberry, lemon, orange, and lime. Opal Fruits were introduced in the United States in 1976[1] as Starburst. Though Starburst originally came in the same flavors as Opal Fruits, Cherry replaced Lime in the early 1980s

I loved the lime ones. I actually wondered last time I ate Starburst if they were a figment of my imagination. I thought maybe it was Laffy Taffy I was remembering in lime.

Has anyone smelled the Starburst shampoos? My scalp is pretty sennsitive so I don't think I could use it, but omg, I may buy some shampoo just to sniff once in a while.

Lime was my favorite.

Mine too. And they used to be softer and easier to chew back then. Why do they have to mess around with a good thing?

Don't get me started on the downslide that Haribo Gummi Bears have taken.

I loved lime, too. The cherry isn't too bad, but it irritates me that they replaced the lime. The worst was when they tried the green apple flavor! :crazy2: Skittles temporarily replaced their lime with the green apple, too, and I was so annoyed!

I know I'm an adult, and I shouldn't care, but I'm a candy fanatic!

Speaking of lime, which ALL green candies used to be flavored as, I want to talk to the person responsible for making all green candies taste like sour apple.

Where is the OUTRAGE over this societal injustice.

Bring back the default green = lime flavor.

I'm with you on this one! For that matter, who decided that pink could be either strawberry or watermelon? Can't stand to get unexpected watermelon flavor -- yick!! And yellow is lemon, NOT banana! (No offense to this guy ---> but banana flavor is just wrong.)

I personally love the cherry Starburst, but I would like to see the lime make a comeback in the regular flavor pack. Maybe instead of the lemon, it's just too sour for me and doesn't seem to "go" with the other sweeter ones.

I am giving this WAAAAAY too much thought!

I bought Starburst jellybeans this past Easter and I was very unhappy that green was sour apple. Yuck!

And didn't green sweet-tarts used to be lime too? I hate green apple!

The commercial used to go

Mouth watering orange
Lip Smacking Lime
Luscious Strawberry and tangy lemon.
You get a burst the moment that you
Bit into a Starburst ,fruit chew ,a burst of refreshing fruit flavor for you!

Lemon- Does anyone actually LIKE this flavor? Or do you just eat it bc it comes in the pack?
Also, remeber when they had (don't remember which) an all red or all pink pack?
