Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino

My wife had gestational diabetes when she was pregnant. She was extremely cranky as a result because she basically couldn't have anything sugary and had to severely limit even stuff like white bread. From what I remember about it, the main issue is that with so much blood sugar, there wasn't like Type I diabetes risks, but excessive birth weight and other potential health risks.

Yeah, I knew someone who had that and didn't control their sugar at all. When their baby was born it had to be put on glucose for a time after birth so it wasn't a shock and the baby was HUGE!!

I thought it was pretty refreshing before I mixed the sour into it! I did like the sour part, too, it just wasn't refreshing like a smoothie anymore lol, more like sour patch kids/warheads.

I live a hundred miles from the nearest Starbucks, so I'll have to let this treat come and go without me. Point of order, however: if I'm hankering for mango, I'll just buy mango juice at the Asian grocery (which is only 50 miles away: hooray for living in the middle of nowhere!).

I'm about 40 miles from a Starbucks (it's near the mall), and I don't think I'll make the trip for this one. I do love a caramel frapaccino and get one when we go that way.

How is that possible in America? Lol!

My home town finally got Starbucks maybe 5 years ago? You would not believe how excited people were about that. Now we have 2 regular and 2 grocery Starbucks.

But before that it was an hour drive. And we were in WA, Starbucks home state. So I believe it! It's definitely a population based thing- the closer you are to an interstate and/or the larger your population, the more likely you are to have one.

Well - you probably understand the whole concept of Starbucks oversaturation in large downtowns. I live close to Berkeley, where they vowed not to open another location (after opening three) but still opened another one a couple of years ago. There was the couple in Best in Show that talked about how they met - where they saw each other from Starbucks located across the street.

My BIL lives near Seattle in a semi rural location. The closest retail is small strip mall with a Starbucks, but the supermarket in the same location has a Starbucks. I also remember about one one about every block when I passed through downtown San Francisco.
