Long time lurker, first time poster. I tried searching for an answer to this question before posting, but couldn't find one.
I was wondering if our Canadian Starbucks app works at the SB's in the parks? I've heard it works in the US but not at Disney. I was thinking of using Airmiles to buy a bunch of SB gift cards, load them to the app and use it to buy snacks/drinks... Thanks for the help.

It does but you can't redeem stars in the parks.

The app doesn't work at Starbucks, at least it never had for us. No stars either. You have to pay for it or use a snack credit if on the Dining plan. I believe the ONLY exception is Disney Springs. Where it's treated as a corporate store and a Disney store.
If you can get Disney gift cards with your miles, then I'd do that, because those you can use at the STARBUCKS in all the parks. Same result, different method.

Is this newer? We haven't been able to use the app ever while at Disney except in Disney Springs.

I've used it in the parks on every trip since they opened Starbucks in the parks, in both DL and WDW parks. I know for sure I was able to use the app in AK, DLand DCA.

Good to know. I just asked my husband, and he said when he was told he couldn't use it at the MK location a few years back, he assumed that was the way it was going to be. And never tried again after that.
So good to know!!

This is why the DIS is such a great place to get info, and corrected misinformation as well.

Thanks for the replies and my confusion continues..lol.

Q. Can you use Starbucks gift cards inside the Disney parks?

A. If you’re a Disney-bound coffee drinker and are trying to imagine your days at the parks without your favorite Starbucks beverage- fear not! Disney has 6 convenient Starbucks locations at Walt Disney World Resort. These are as follows:

  • Downtown Disney Marketplace (West Side) and a kiosk near World of Disney at the Marketplace.
  • Fountain View in EPCOT
  • Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom
  • Trolley Car Cafe in Hollywood Studios
  • Creature Comforts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Guests with a stash of Starbucks gift cards will be pleased to know that Disney WILL accept them as payment at the Starbucks locations listed above. The great thing about this is that not only are guests able to use them for your favorite snacks and beverages but I’ve also used a gift card to get one of the Disney-themed Starbucks mugs that can be found on property.

Can I use my Starbucks App? Yes. The Starbucks app on your smartphone can also be used to pay for items at Disney World provided that you have a balance."

At the Starbucks in Disney World, can you use a Starbucks gift card to purchase your coffee? Thanks.”
Hello Christina, thanks for asking your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I think you will be happy to know that you can use your Starbucks gift cards at any of the Starbucks located on Walt Disney World property. You can find one at Magic Kingdom, Epcot and now Downtown Disney. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can also redeem a snack credit for any drink of any size.

Enjoy your coffee and have a magical vacation!

Thanks Aladora. I know the US app works there but I've heard the Canadian one does not. Unfortunately, the answers you posted don't say which app it is. The Starbucks Gift cards from Airmiles specifically say for use in Canada. If you have used the Canadian Starbucks app in Disney then that is a great sign.

I've even loaded Airmiles Starbucks gift cards into the app and then used them at Disney! Right now I have over $100 ready for our trip next month! :)

That is exactly what I want to do. We are going next month too, April 23-May 4. Have a great trip!

There is no Canadian or US app. Just one Starbucks app universally accepted. If you login to your account online on the Canadian site, watch the URL's carefully at the top. As soon as you do any Card operations, you are redirected to the US site. There is really only one Starbucks card/app program with the currency converting automatically. I use mine a ton both sides of the border, apparently enough so that at one point my app started reloading my balance in US$ all on its own. Never had any problems using it at Disney. Actually the only place I have ever had a problem with my using app was at the Starbucks at Target in Canada (works fine at Target in US). I wish more retailers would take this global view with their programs!

I don't use the app, but I do have a Starbucks card that I loaded up with money by redeeming Airmiles. Worked just fine at all the Starbucks in the parks, and airports.

Well I am going to redeem a bunch of Airmiles for Starbucks gift cards, load them onto the app and go happy happy joy joy. "Kids, let ole dad get you a frap". Thanks for the responses!
I had no issues with getting DD a few cake pop's, DH & I Iced tea or lemonade all for "free". Always ask for a cup of ice water too fill up our BRITA water bottles too. Love not having to buy bottled water but still getting Starbucks great tasting water!

I've used my gold card once in the US before the ap was available for android and my Gold card read in US dollars in the app so if I want to move balance to it I can only do it on the website as the app tells me it's in US dollars.

Can I ask an OT ?
So Starbucks app can be used in both countries and the My Disney app, too. Any other apps that are seamless? (Still saving my Target receipts for my daughter's Cartwheel, for example, as she is in the states- and on that note I like that you can send a Target gift card digitally right to a US cell # )

Thanks in advance :flower3:

That's good to know. Last trip I used a physical gift card... I only use the app here at home tho.
I`ll have to remember to bring a gift card and transfer everything over to it.

A quick email to the Starbucks support team (see info on Starbucks website) got me switched back. The thing is it was totally random; had been using both sides of the border for a long time when it switched. Support couldn't tell me why, but did say that they had a small number after a software update. Probably just the right place, wrong time for me.

My Panera works fine at locations both sides of the border. It is a favorite stop for us when travelling.
Costco card (not an app) is good everywhere in Canada/US/Mexico
I find amazon most interesting because my US and American accounts are "aware" of each other, but I have separate shopping carts on both. I tend to load up my shopping cart over a month or so and then place one order - great way to give sober thought to actually needing that gadget. Have to be careful when placing orders to ship to correct US or Canadian address and use correct US or Canadian Credit Card as it auto-selects the last one used on either side of the border (have almost shipped Canadian orders to MyUSAddress).
