Hi all,

Been on Atkins for about 2 months now and I'm really missing my Starbucks treats. No, not a plain ole coffee, but one of the fru fru versions. I've avoided Starbucks like the plague but I'm wondering if they have something that is low carb I could treat myself with every now and again?

Thanks for any words of wisdom! :grouphug:

The only thing I can recommend is the sugar-free flavor syrups. Vanilla and hazelnut are available, and they are 0 carbs and 0 calories. Adding one of these syrups to a tall nonfat latte will still cost you 21 carbs, but if that's something you can fit into your day, go for it! I've had both flavors of syrup, and I enjoyed both - but I think I prefer the hazelnut.

The Light Frappuccino is also lighter in carbs (30 vs. 52 for the regular), but that still sounds a little carb heavy. I definitely recommend the Light version, though - very yummy!

Thanks for the info... In my panic  last night, I couldn't find the nutrition info.

W-A-Y too rich for my blood. Oh well, maybe I can invent one at home that is similar but won't take ALL my carbs for the day!

:teeth:

BTW, I'm guessing that all the carbs in the SF nonfat latte come from the milk (maybe a couple of grams from the coffee), so you could probably concoct something at home using a lower-carb milk product. I hope you find something to satify your craving!

Starbucks will do a latte using Silk Soy milk. Some Soy milk is lower in carbs than regular milk and some is not.

I drink a small Starbucks Breve almost every day. It's made like a latte, only they use cream instead of milk. You can have it made with 1/2 & 1/2, or heavy whipping cream. Sometimes I have them put in a shot of sugar-free vanilla syrup. Or sometimes I just put a packet of Splenda in it. Either way, it hasn't seemed to affect my weight loss at all!

Do you have a Barnie's near by? I know that they have a yummy low carb freezer with I believe 5 gm of carbs.

For even fewer carbs, you could have a nonfat cappucino with a sugar-free shot of vanilla or hazelnut. Thanks for the link to the nutritional information. I have been having the nonfat carmel macchiatto. Yikes! 40 carbs! I think I will go with the nonfat cappucino from now on (14 carbs).

The only thing about a "nonfat" cappucino is that it's made with skim milk, and there's LOTS of carbs in that! It has sugar in it. If you ask them to make the cappucino with steamed cream instead of milk, it will have much less carbs, and be less fattening. The shot of sf hazlenut or vanilla would be great! :sunny:

Go for the breve'! So creamy and yummy and half and half has much fewer carbs than skim milk. Add a shot of sugar free vanilla and life is good!
