Star Wars W'end - does it matter which weekend?

Want to bring DNeph down for SWW and it looks like the last one (6/10-12) will be the easiest for us to schedule. I heard that the first weekend draws a lot of locals - is there any difference/ pros or cons between the different weekends? Will the final weekend have the same events, or will it have 'wound down' - or is the last one also a bigger draw? He is a huge star wars fan and would love to see some of the characters, the parade (is this a special star wars parade, or are the SW characters added into the stars and cars parade?), and of course the chance to battle Darth Vader or Darth Maul would be beyond cool ! :smooth: TIA for any advice from SSW vets !!

The primary issue that makes a difference is which actor autographs you want. Different actors will appear each weekend. Other than that, almost all of the events are repeated. Some of the really special limited-edition merchandise will sell out the first weekend, but it's mostly adults who go after that stuff.

There are different actors scheduled for each weekend. If it matters who your DN sees, then this may play a role in when you go.

If you do not care about which actors are available for autographs, then there is no difference between the weekend

Also, there is an extra Star Wars parade. Last year it was at 11ish and we had to change some priority seating for an early lunch. I didn't know about the parade until a few weeks before we left and almost couldn't get lunch at the SciFi. We did end up with a table at 1:45. The parade is pretty neat. It's all Star Wars and includes the two actors giving autographs that weekend.

Thanks, everyone ! - we're going to go ahead and schedule our trip for the final weekend. It won't be important to us which celebrities are scheduled - DN will probably want the autographs of the costumed characters more ! Thanks for the heads-up on the parade - that will be a must see ! :smooth:

Hope you have a wonderful time. We are going to the first SW Weekend in conjunction with seeing the midnight show at Downtown Disney AMC. We have been to a SW Weekend four years ago and are really interested in seeing Jedi Mickey, the Star Wars "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" show, and getting an autograph now that they do FastPasses instead of wristbands. Your nephew will have a great time getting SW cahracter autographs. Be sure to get Darth Vader's. He put on a show with my daughter.
