Hi~

I just read on another message board that the Star Wars Weekends have been extended until June 26th. I hope this is true since my son and I will be at MGM on the 25th!! He would be so excited.

I just thought I would pass the info along.

hmm we are going to be at epcot on the 25th and sea world on the 26th... wonder if I should switch my itenerary? my kids and dh are SO into star wars.... BUT I have all our PSs etc set.... :confused3

Would love to know if this is true also! We have MGM planned for the 26th and my DS would be completely thrilled! He finally just went and saw Episode III today with his Dad. Daddy has been working a lot of hours and Mommy didn't want to go see it! Oh my goodness....the look on his face if he could meet some of the characters! We were there in 2003 during Star Wars Weekends, but he was very young then and had no concept of what Star Wars was or is...but he does now!

This was reported on wdwmagic website and was "confirmed" by some CMs on that sight. It would be great if it is true, but I am not saying anything to my son just in case.

Guess I'll have to change my itinerary, and plan on stopping by MGM on the 25th or 26th. My boys would go bonkers! They LOVE Star Wars!

I just fired off an e-mail to Guest Relations to see if they would confirm or deny this information. I'll post if I hear anything.

MAke sure you check into the times for the Jedi Training Academy. My son got picked to do this and it made his whole trip !!

I had asked yesterday if this was true, because I saw that too. I got an e-mail back today from All Ears saying that anything is possible, but they have not heard anything definite. DS will be thrilled if it is!

What was this all about?

We went the last two weekends and it was crowded!! This was on 5/29 after the motorcade.

Jedi Training is an experience for the kids to play with light sabers on stage and battle either Darth Maul or Darth Vader. It's lots of fun. Last year they gave the kids a prize for participating.

oy vey! that crowd! well I think you just made my decision for me!! :rotfl:

does anyone know if they have extended in the past and if so.... would they extend again hehe that would be awsome if some how they extended into July Ill be thier July 14th and My fiance would be out of his mind if he got to go to star wars weekends on our honeymoon. He is the biggest star wars fan i know.(he finally got me into it so i think it would be cool to) but more so for him since he has always just missed it.

Im keeping my lips sealed He would flip if he knew we were just missing them again.

What about us 47 year old kids? Why can't we play with sabers and battle the bad guys? :confused3

I just read about it on the Intercot news page. I think it probably is true. I would love to go. My DS 9 is a huge Star Wars fan. Friday the 24th will be the last day of our trip. I think we may go by there for a while, but that picture of the crowd was a little scary.:scared1: I've never seen it like that.

We were there today, and the CMs confirmed it with us---they've extended it two weekends past the original end date. However, these particular CMs were actually rather annoyed about it because there's hardly any merchandise left for the original dates....they're certain there will be nothing left for anyone to buy during the extended weekends. Just an FYI for those thinking about buying anything Weekend related.

Oh, and for anyone looking to buy a Darth Mickey---they're not to be found anywhere in the parks. Apparently they ran out opening weekend, and now can only be ordered online due to production problems. Here's the link to order it: http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x234099042

For anyone planning to go, I cannot stress enough about going well before the park opens. 9am was the official park opening....we were there about 8:15 or so, and there was already a crowd lining up at the gates. Luckily, there's quite a neat little "show" they put on, so it does make it a lot easier to keep kids interested in waiting.

If you're looking to buy merchandise, do it first thing!! By mid-morning, the lines to buy items was awful. Crowds, crowds everywhere. Same thing with having any photos taken---we did our Jedi Mickey picture early with hardly a wait, but the line was out the door later on.

And if the weather's anything like it was this weekend, bring lots of sunscreen, drink lots of water, be prepared for rain & crowds....and bring your sense of humor, because you're going to need it. :rotfl:

We'll be arriving in WDW on the 26th and we would definitely change our itinerary for this! Can anyone tell me what the usual times are for the events?

Snowy, there were different events all day long, so it'd really depend on what you were wanting to see/do. I do believe the parade was only once though (I don't have the info in front of me), and that started at 11:15am. The Jedi training seemed to be about every hour or so, as was the behind the scenes movie.

Hope that helped a little. We basically saw everything we were interested in seeing by about 1pm, so it wasn't bad (we didn't do the trivia thing---that was a "register at 9am for a 4pm show"!, but saw a lot of other things).

As for the parade....if you really want to see it, the absolute best place to sit (IMHO) is on the wall in front of the celeb busts near Sounds Dangerous. Just need to get there about an hour early to snag it, but we had a perfect view with no one in front of us, and we saw everyone up close. A bit too close sometimes---a tusken raider put his face right in my DD's (6) face. She didn't like that much. :rotfl:
