Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

He would be SO psyched for Darth Maul! Errr, who is Ventress??

Okay, so what time should I get there for JTA? I'm not willing to camp out at 5am and earlier for the actors so we will skip that, lol. What time should I get there for JTA. 7:00? Or should I get there earlier?



Also, would we have time to sign up for that mind trivia game for little kids?

ETA: Can you sign up for the parade or are the randomly picked from the crowd?

I'll be there Sunday too! I'm going to be the kid with the red backpack with Stitch peaking out the top. Maybe we'll run into each other.

Asajj Ventress appears on the Clone Wars cartoon....Darth Maul and Ventress rotate JTA, so one will have Darth Vader and Maul and the other Darth Vader and Ventress.
7am for JTA should be fine, go first to sign up for JTA then walk to the info desk by Sounds Dangerous and sign up for PMC, reports say that you need your child to sign up for both

We had one of the best sww experiences last night. Both dh and ds were in costume. The musician guys (don't know their proper names) were greeting guests by Star Tours. They all stopped and headed to my guys. I got so many great pics!!

Got here at 6:50 got 4:35 for tom kane...4:45 for ashley and stansby #4 for james...park opened at 7:30 am r(de tsm no line...Ahsoka comes out for pics at 11:50am, first out is Cody at 9:50

DS is sick so we're no longer going this weekend. We'll have to wait til next year (hopefully) for first SWW experience -- given that he's watched episodes 6 and 1 and is halfway through 2 today, I don't think that his interest will wane in the next year.

Thank you to everyone for all of the posts about what to expect and advice -- they are terrific.

I just cancelled our Sci-Fi reservation for 5:30pm tomorrow two minutes ago if anyone wants to grab it.

Never thought it would work out, but we've just re-configured everything so we'll be there next weekend! Swapping Anikin for Darth Maul! DS had no idea that SWW wasn't just this weekend so he's thrilled.

At Darth's Mall all the AP stuff is at the register when you check out. There is a special AP pin that features R2-D2 and C3-P0, a shirt that has darth maul on the front, a framed coin and a regular coin.

I am thinking about taking my iPad next weekend and posting pictures through out the day. How hard is it to post pictures here? I am thinking it might be easier for me to tweet them on twitter.

We just got back from a short tour today *my boyfriend has to work tonight, and we woke up at 5:45 to try to make it to rope drop. We missed it by 15 minutes ... grr, because he was running late*

We had a good day, but there was so much more I wanted to do. We rode TSM, ToT and RNRC in the first hour, plus got my daughter signed up for JTA before that. It was a crazy first hour or so, that's for sure.

We met C3P0 and R2D2, and Queen Amidala. We were with my parents, and it wasn't something they cared about. My girl would have been much happier to meet everyone. We didn't see many characters just walking around, which was kind of a disappointment, no Storm Troopers other than on the roof when walking in.

We saw the parade, and then did Queen Amidala (we waited less than 15 minutes to see her, it was great timing) and then went over to JTA. She performed and we left not long after.

I, personally, didn't think the crowds were too bad. It was our first SWW, but I read a lot of this thread, and honestly was kind of scared ... but it was completely manageable. It's HOT but that's a duh because it's Florida. It started to look like rain before we left, way off in the distance, and it gave a little bit of cloud cover, which was nice. Depending on work schedules, we're hoping to do another day, but a lot more relaxed ... we don't get up before 6:45 for school, so I can't believe we woke up so early for Disney, lol.

- best line was Queen Amidala asking her helper to remind her to have an outfit like this made. It was something she could see herself wearing ...

yulilin3- I did not get to the the celebrity fastpasses last year, how did you get 2? I want Nika & Ashley for the last weekend. I wonder if 4am would be early enough, can you explain how it works so I don't have to read through a crazy amount of pages?? Thanks!

I can't wait to get DGrD in the car and tell her on the way to the airport - I just told her we could have a SW marathon next weekend at my house and watch all the movies (again) - Psyche!! lol
I have to find some way to put together a Leia costume for her - she is Leia obsessed.

My girl would have been much happier to meet everyone. We didn't see many characters just walking around, which was kind of a disappointment, no Storm Troopers other than on the roof when walking in.

There were 2 walking around in the back by Darth Maul today. But I agree, I was disapointed there weren't more characters. The heat REALLY got to us today as well. I knew it would be hot and did the best I could to be careful. I've never paid attention but there really are not enough air conditioned places at HS unless you pay for an expensive TS meal. The rides on the lines were long as were the character lines so there was really just no place to get out of the sun. We had only planned on spending the morning but my son got into the Padawan Mind Challenge at 2:10 so I had to wait for that before we could go. I felt so sick by that time. Now that I think about it, I should have gone to the arcade at Pizza Planet.

I also forgot about the parade until 20 minutes prior. And by that time the crowds were unreal and the sun was pretty bad. We couldn't even get a view of the big screen so that was a let down. Depending on weather, I might go back for an afternoon visit and try again next weekend.

On the plus side...DS got into the first Jedi Training Show and fought Darth Vader. Darth Maul was there too (he's so awesome). We also took pics with Darth Maul but the lines were just too long and heat too bad for anyone else. The Mind Challenge was pretty cool too and despite feeling sick, I'm glad we stuck it out. The questions are on the cartoon show which he's never seen so he couldn't answer much. But it was fun and was on the main stage. They also gave him a toy figure (he got Zam Wesell) so that was an unexpected surprise. We also got his face painted up for his favorite character, Genera; Grievous.

I took some video, I'll try to post it up tomorrow.


P.S. It opened at 7:30 today too. We got there at 7:00 and the autograph line was HUGE. We were second in line at the gate. By the time it opened at 7:30 there was a good amount of people there. We headed straight for JTA and made the first show.
