Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

I wondered what the mark up was on some of this stuff! I know by the time we get there for weekend 4 the 2012 shirts should be marked down. We aren't looking for anything limited edition, but I would love to get my hands on the Donald Maul plush, the blanket, the Donald Maul coffee mug, a grey shirt for DS and in my dream world, some new Star Wars Vinylmation (but I am not holding my breath on those after last year :sad2:)

I hope there is still some great stuff left for you!

I don't collect vinylmation, but when I was at the airport last week I saw some Star Wars vinylmation there at the Disney Store! We also saw it at Panchitos at CSR. But I have no idea what's new and what's been around for a while.

I LOVE the bandoiler lanyard and I'm sad to see it sold out. Hope I can find it cheap on eBay. Big if. :sad2:

I'm done with this thread today. When I get back, I'm hoping I can avoid Hoopla spoilers.

My DS is addicted to vinylmation. With school, we never make it down until weekend 4. The SW vinylmation were being bought by the case weekend 1 last year. I was NOT happy. Luckily they were back on the shelves again during our November trip and he was able to get a couple. The series 2 were just released, and based on the ebay pricing, I am guessing they are being gobbled by the case again, and none will be left for us AGAIN. :sad2:

That's what I figured about the wristband (not being able to take it off), but then I saw people mentioning getting in separate lines and then giving the wristbands that they collect to their kids. So, how do you avoid your kid having multiple wristbands? Sorry to be so dense!

OK re: this weekend being the excepction as far as how crowded the tent is. Thanks!

This is where it's a judgement call on the CM's. Last year, a lot of us checked with the CM. Just about all said if it's the adults doing it for their kids, then they may "forfeit" their wristbands to them. (I slipped mine off, DH actually broke his and re-taped it around DS' wrist, they accepted it after an explanation of what we did) Usually the explanations are "I'm in line for my child" seem to suffice. This year I notice the emphasis on "1 fast pass or stand by per person" so I'm not sure how that's working. I'd like to hear from the 1st weekenders and if it worked for them like it did last year. :confused3 But I also noticed some of the time slots are the same for the celebrities (I'm looking at Wknd 2 when I'll be there, there's 3 celebrities for the 4:30 time slot)so...here's to the 1st weekenders to breaking ground for the rest of us.

In the past no one has DARED to put any spoilers up on this thread. Let's hope this continues...

Sorry if I offended you or anyone else with the Behind the Force pic or merchandise pics. I will put any more on my TR instead of this thread.

Had a great day today:

Go there at 9am, stormtroopers were still on the roof
Saw Minnie Leia and got Toy Story FP
Saw Commander Cody, Lightning McQueen and Tow-mater
Saw Shaak-Ti, Jango Fett
Good spot for the parade
Toy Story ride after parade, even with the FP it was about 20 minsWent to Darth's Mall, 20 minute wait to get in, probably 1 hr to pay(This was around 2pm)
Bought the T-shirt with Duck Maul and a laser gun for DS, found it at the store near American Idol, no lineup. The only thing we didn't get to do is the Star Tours as I forgot to get a FP and I thought of it too late

We left just before 3pm parade and it started raining.
Pretty long day for my DS and DD who are 4 and 2, plus this is our end of the vacation, 5 days in a row at a park. I wish I could have gone to Hoopla

Thanks for all the tips, made my day easier!!!

I just have one thing to add, I didn't see it here yet..

JTA filled by 9:15am today... So if you want to do that, get there EARLY!!!

Yes, it's the Clone Wars. IMHO you should really give that show a go. Even if you do it solely to sit in the air conditioning. I think you will be surprised at how much truely goes into the Clone Wars. I swore I'd stick with the feature films only, but I actually really enjoy the Clone Wars. This Behind the Force show is about how they put the voice and effects to the animation.

We'll definately be checking out Darth Mall at some point when the queue is not long. We aren't interested in the LE stuff, just all the other stuff!! DS is more interested in the characters.

Was build a droid in there too?

I know!!

Yes, there was build a droid.

While we don't have any intention of meeting more than one celebrity (if we even do that), how do they enforce how many FPs you get? If it's not tied to your park ticket? I know I'm missing something here. :confused3

Hi Holly (or anyone else who could answer this). What would be the best time of day to go to the mall? I was thinking we'd do it first thing (since we probably won't try to sign up for PMC), but if it's busy then, I know it will only get busier. The 12:30 time doesn't work since that's around parade time. Does it die down a little in the evening? Or is it just uber busy today with people snatching up the LE merch? By the 4th week, going first thing shouldn't be too bad . . . right (I hope)?

It will be quieted down A LOT after today. 4th week will be perfect.
How much is the blanket with purchase? I am such a sucker for Donald (and Darth Maul for that matter) that I may "need" one of those. And what is the $ amount you have to get to qualify? (not that we would have an issue meeting it;))

To shop there was a 2 hour wait?

The blanket is I believe $29.95 with a $40 dollar purchase.

My son is on the Asoerger's spectrum of Autism. The cast members last year were Rey accommodating. I gave him my wrist band and fastpass and was able to accompany him for autographs!

Anyone else stayng at the Boardwalk for the third week?
