Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

And all that merchandise has been offered on Ebay for weeks now...it's sad how many people take advantage of those who can't make it to SWW every year, they make tons of money.

Just what I was thinking! Who needs 20 of every pin? Oh yea...someone who is going to turn around and sell them for double on ebay. Makes me sad.

We tried to watch in the first season and just couldn't get into it :confused3

OK, so we will skip that one but try to do Stars of the Saga if we are ready to melt in a puddle and need an A/C break!! Is that one in the Premier Theater?

I'll agree to give it a try, it's not so much talking about the series itself but how they do voice over, they get people from the audience to do voices, they also play around alot with different voices (like Dee Bradley Baker does the sounds for Perry the Platypus, he's on Handy Manny and other cartoons so they incorporate those voices into a clone wars clip) And, yes the show is inside the Premiere Theater.

be at the park around 6am, for more popular celebrities, like this years Ray Park a little earlier if possible...you'll see people lining up to the far right of the turnstiles (this is outside the park) get in the celeb line you want, the CM will start handing out wristbands and fps before the park opens. When they run out of fp (guaranteed autograph) they'll have a small number of standby ticket by number 1 thru x, this will not guarantee an autograph but if the celeb finishes signing all the guarantee fp in the session then they start taking standbys. Your fp will have a specific time (like from 10:15am to 10:25am). You go to the tent of your celeb at the corresponding time.
They are enforcing only one wristband/fp per person per day. This includes standbys so you can only meet 1 actor per day.I hope it's clear enough

While we don't have any intention of meeting more than one celebrity (if we even do that), how do they enforce how many FPs you get? If it's not tied to your park ticket? I know I'm missing something here. :confused3

Hey guys, I work register at the darth mall so say hello to me :thumbsup2
I'm Holly :cool1:
ANYWAYS..TIPS FROM A CM!!

The lines are extremely long. It chills out a bit at 12:30-1 but picks back up after 1.
At opening and around 9 to noon the wait was 2 hours to get IN TO the store.
Be ready to know if you want the stuff shipped to your room or front of park or home! There is a cast member in line having you fill it out if you are.

PLEASE...tell us if you have a discount!! It is a pain to re-ring things for a 10% discount so let us know if you are a disney chase visa or annual pass member or a cast member.

HAVE FUN. It was one of the best work days of my life and I will be here every day, mostly morning until mid afternoon so say hello and message me if you have any questions!!

Hi Holly (or anyone else who could answer this). What would be the best time of day to go to the mall? I was thinking we'd do it first thing (since we probably won't try to sign up for PMC), but if it's busy then, I know it will only get busier. The 12:30 time doesn't work since that's around parade time. Does it die down a little in the evening? Or is it just uber busy today with people snatching up the LE merch? By the 4th week, going first thing shouldn't be too bad . . . right (I hope)?

they put a wristband on you and you can't take it off or cut it because without it you can't meet the celeb. So if you're in line for a celeb and get your wristband then you can't line up again for another because the CM will see it...
Today is the exeption for Darth Mall, today was the day to buy all the Limited Edition stuff and that's why it was so busy, starting tomorrow it'll be back to normal.
Early hours are good, also of course during the parade and in the afternoon since alot of the sessions for autographs and all the shows at Premiere Theater happen. We usually go after Hoopla because alot of people leave after that and that way we don;t have to carry bags around all day.

How much is the blanket with purchase? I am such a sucker for Donald (and Darth Maul for that matter) that I may "need" one of those. And what is the $ amount you have to get to qualify? (not that we would have an issue meeting it;))

Ok gang, I'm checking out for the day...don't want to be close to the computer in case of any pictures or videos of Hyperspace Hoopla pop up, I want to be surprised.
I'll be at DHS around 6:45am in Andy Secombe's line, not sure what I'll be wearing, but we'll have a red Darth Vader backpack and my DD11 will wear the SWW blue and white t-shirt from last year. If you see us come say Hi.
I'll ask tons of questions about fps, I'll walk around looking for all characters and will go inside Darth Mall, so if I can't report back during the day I'll do it when I come back home.
Remember for those going tomorrow the Studios Central meet is at ABC Comissary from 3pm to 5pm. I'll be there too.

That's what I figured about the wristband (not being able to take it off), but then I saw people mentioning getting in separate lines and then giving the wristbands that they collect to their kids. So, how do you avoid your kid having multiple wristbands? Sorry to be so dense!

OK re: this weekend being the excepction as far as how crowded the tent is. Thanks!

Thanks for everything today! Have fun tomorrow!!

Just throwing this out there...

I see the person there is listing the gray SWW shirt for $39.95, the actual cost of the shirt is $19.99 for kids and $24.95 for adults including the XXL size.

I wondered what the mark up was on some of this stuff! I know by the time we get there for weekend 4 the 2012 shirts should be marked down. We aren't looking for anything limited edition, but I would love to get my hands on the Donald Maul plush, the blanket, the Donald Maul coffee mug, a grey shirt for DS and in my dream world, some new Star Wars Vinylmation (but I am not holding my breath on those after last year :sad2:)

We're on our way down now for our first SWW ever. Yay! Our kiddos are not looking for autographs or meeting characters. They want to do JTA and really just do lots of looking at everything, along with the regular HS rides. We normally get to parks At opening. What time will that be tomorrow (Saturday)? 7:45?

Last year, by the greatest of miracles, my wife was able to get her wrist band off - by gently peeling it back. She put it on me and I went to the last autograph session. We managed to get all 5 autographs on the weekend we went last year. For the record - by Sunday, she had had enough of Star Wars. Personally, I could have gone another couple fo days.

Are any of the non-limited items available after Star Wars Weekends? I'm going in July, so I'm wondering if I could get maybe a shirt because I missed out last year on merchandise.

Today posters on here said gates opened at 7:40am. This link https://twitter.com/#!/studioscentral was posted earlier with TONS of pictures. There were a few of the JTA lines. YIKES
