Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

There weren't any characters in the actual Mall today, no.

And about the times, they just let them in today because people were camping out for the limited edition stuff. It went FAST.
My first transaction took an hour and a half [because something happened and my system crashed and I had to re-ring everything..] and 2 people on 2 registers to complete. The total: $17,000

Normally we skip the shows since DS was never that into behind the scenes. Last year we did the Ray Park show and it was fun to watch.

As I'm following along with Studios Central's tweets, Stars of the Sage sounds interesting. Is it done every weekend? How far in advance do we need to line up for this one? (Great seats not a priority, we just want a seat).

That's what I'm looking for. The snippets I have seen include the "warning sign" about hats, hair and makeup and that there is a "photo" that allegedly costs around $50 that is optional. Not much intel to be gathered there. I promise that if there is no review of the entire process by the 26th when I go through it, I will put one up.

Ash

I'm pulling some answers from the DisneyParks Blog and the CM who answered a few of my questions when I made my reservation.

-Multiple 3-D photos to make scans of your face neck up.
-It'll be placed on a Han Solo body. Smaller version for the kids. There was a question about a female face on a male figure but the people and the female said the figure still came out great.
-The approximate dimensions for the figurine – 7 3/4″ long by 3″ wide by 1″ tall.
-Several forms will be on display so guests can see the results.
-To capture the image correctly no glasses, headgear, costume makeup, masks. Headbands will be provided to pull the hair back. There was a question on facial hair(beards) and that was okay.

I asked how long it would take, and it takes approx. 10 min. to do. The CM told me to show up 10 min. prior my apt.

You have 48 hrs to cancel without being charged a fee. Max. 2 people per reservation. Takes 4 wks to ship.

Stars of the Saga happens every day during SWW, it's a Q&A with the visiting celebrities hosted by James Arnold Taylor...my favorite part is the pre-show with the stormtroopers it's super funny...you should line up about 30min before the show.

And all that merchandise has been offered on Ebay for weeks now...it's sad how many people take advantage of those who can't make it to SWW every year, they make tons of money.

She told me they run the biggest online store of it. They had me get the limited edition framed coin as the lowest number possible.

Here are the Star Wars Weekend shirts they are selling in the stores. Are there any additional SWW shirts in the Mall?

Thanks! What about Behind the Force? Is that one specific to Clone Wars TV? We're purests and only care about the movies...:snooty:

They have MANY different types of shirts.
They have kids, adults, womens, and babys. Some are very adorable.

They have pins, vinylmation, shirts, exclusive merch just for here at a giant stand, build your own lightsabers, also the name-badge thing that you can have your name translated to whatever that language is and it's on a name tag that looks like a disney cast members.

Best thing you can do is choose what things you want to do at SWW and focus on doing it. I decided to take in the atmosphere,. see the parade and see the new Star Tours myself. Definitely get a Fastpass for Star Tours and any attraction you want due to the higher crowds. It made the day a lot more fun at DHS because I wasn't worried about having to do everything including the shows and autographs. It was alot of fun trying to do random like getting pictures with Darth Maul while trying to be Badbutt. I looked silly.

So I'm guessing there is no limit on items?!?!? By the time I get there on 6/8 everything will be gone, correct? :scared1:

The limited edition stuff will be, everything else no.

The only limit is on the annual passholder and DVC exclusive pins, which are 2 per person.

Yes, it's the Clone Wars. IMHO you should really give that show a go. Even if you do it solely to sit in the air conditioning. I think you will be surprised at how much truely goes into the Clone Wars. I swore I'd stick with the feature films only, but I actually really enjoy the Clone Wars. This Behind the Force show is about how they put the voice and effects to the animation.

We'll definately be checking out Darth Mall at some point when the queue is not long. We aren't interested in the LE stuff, just all the other stuff!! DS is more interested in the characters.

Was build a droid in there too?

HOORAY!!! An option that isn't black!!! :cool1:

I know!!

We tried to watch in the first season and just couldn't get into it :confused3

Yep! all about the Clone Wars

OK, so we will skip that one but try to do Stars of the Saga if we are ready to melt in a puddle and need an A/C break!! Is that one in the Premier Theater?
