Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

Hi all you lucky folks attending the first weekend! Can someone let me know where you might be kind enough to post pictures (either this thread, or another - or website). I am headed there for weekend 3 (first time), but CAN'T WAIT to experience it all - so hoping to see some great pics. Thanks and have a great time!

I'll probably post a few pictures Monday morning.

Character Update:

All Clone Wars characters return at 2:40
Anakin returns at 2:05, while the rest of the council returns 40 minutes later
Zam and Aurra finally come out at 1:45
The Cantina Band finally come out at 2:15
Boba Fett returns at 1:15
Darth Maul returns at 2:10
Amidala and the fab four's return times are unknown
Vader and Chewbacca are still meeting, though Chewie might be replaced by an Ewok

Appreciate the updates everyone. We're flying in tomorrow night and hitting HS on Sunday. I've got the grand(?) honor of coming over early and getting in Ray Park's line for a FP. Any idea when I should be there to ensure one? And if I get the FP and the wristband, can my son still be the one who actually gets the autograph? It's more his thing than mine, but I didn't want to drag the entire family with me to the gates in the middle of the night. Thanks!

I'll be in Ray's line on Sunday as well! :thumbsup2 For your questions:

1. Before 6 AM, around 5:35 or 5:40 would be good.
2. Yes, just give him your wristband and FP ticket.

Cool--thanks for that. I was planning on leaving our Downtown Disney hotel about 5:00 so that should work out great.

Is this the parade break? :confused3

How does the Celebrity FP system work exactly? Do you get the wristband and the FP at the same time? Does this all happen outside of the turnstiles before the park opens? And do I need to have my park ticket with me?

Easiest answer would be to quote myself. Go back on this thread to p. 23, post 341.

You don't need your park ticket at the time of getting the fast pass.

be at the park around 6am, for more popular celebrities, like this years Ray Park a little earlier if possible...you'll see people lining up to the far right of the turnstiles (this is outside the park) get in the celeb line you want, the CM will start handing out wristbands and fps before the park opens. When they run out of fp (guaranteed autograph) they'll have a small number of standby ticket by number 1 thru x, this will not guarantee an autograph but if the celeb finishes signing all the guarantee fp in the session then they start taking standbys. Your fp will have a specific time (like from 10:15am to 10:25am). You go to the tent of your celeb at the corresponding time.
They are enforcing only one wristband/fp per person per day. This includes standbys so you can only meet 1 actor per day.
I hope it's clear enough

I am home after a couple hours at the park (10am-ish to noon-ish), some observations:

1. Parking was no problem.

2. I could only find SWW maps outside of Sounds Dangerous. Were they located anywhere else?

3. Where on earth is C3PO??!! We were coming up the ramp across from the Little Mermaid and he stuck his head out and waved to us on the ramp. He then proceeded to a door at the Great Movie Ride. He's not out for M&G, is he?!!

4. The 11am show for Behind the Force was not full. The entire upper section in the back was empty. We arrived in line at 10:30.

5. Around 10am we headed straight to Darth Mall first. The cm told us the wait was one to two hours. So we got out of line.

6. Cody and Rex were interacting with kids in queue as they were "changing guard".

7. The queue for Darth Maul is around the back of him this year.

That's all I can think of from our short time there.

When did they close off the lines for the parade (generally)?

Also, are there any characters in the tent?

And thanks for the Studios Central Twitter link!!!

The characters in the Darth Mall tent will be Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2.

When I'm in line they usually tell me they need min. 20 min. to leave and to get to the parade; they start cutting off the line about 45 min. before the parade.

Thanks for the update!!! Last year we saw C3PO in the merchandise tent, so maybe he is there again?
