Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

That Build your own droid is SO cute! I want to make one with Mickey ears :) I just hope I can get into the store during Star Wars weekend lol

Why did you have to post about the carbonate figure.....and why did I tell my husband! I made home promise no more light sabers this trip so now he wants the figure. How do you yell a grown man no. I know well end up with at least three of the build your own droids but I draw the line at the figure. He was even trying decide what face to make!

I told DH about it too and he didn't even pause at the $100 price tag. He wants to do it but I just don't know....but it's not like I can tell a grown man no either! LOL

Remember anyone wanting to do the Carbon Freeze Me needs to call and make reservations starting today. 407 WDW TECH

Question about rope drop show and the lines to get in.

I know that people start lining up VERY early, mostly because they want the fast passes for autographs. The autographs aren't very important to us, so we won't be doing that. We would, however, like to see the show at rope drop.

It's been a while since we've been to Disney, and I'm trying to picture how that area looks/is set up. If we just want to see the rope drop show, will we have to get there very early too? Or is there maybe an area to the side where you can see the show, but not "be in line"--and after the rope drop show just wait until all the people before us go through and get their autograph passes...

The people that line up for the celeb fp's do it to the right of the turnstiles so you don't have to make that line at all if you don't want autographs...If you just want to watch the Stormtroopers opening the park you can just stand in front of the turnstiles, make sure you are able to see the roof and then the stormtroopers will come out about 15min before park opening. After the park opens you can just go in or stay and watch some more, they stay on the roof for about an hour after park opening.

I haven't done rope drop for years. But back then we got to MGM as soon as the resort buses started running. We were one of the first people at the turnstiles. My biggest fear was that we were stationed at a turnstile and they wouldn't open that set of turnstiles. That didn't happen, all turn stiles were opened that day.

Behind us was this tremendous sea of people. I'm so glad we were the first there because I would have felt so clausterphobic. But being the first, we were under the roofing of the turnstile and we didn't really get to see the storm troopers. We saw the ones at a distance though.

I'm loving the build your own droid! :lovestruc Question on the cupcake: Does it have peanuts or PB in it?

I have a couple questions for you guys.
I've only been to SWW once (last year) and we didn't do any autographs, but this year my sister and I want to wait and line for Ray Park FP.

Anyway, do you need to have your park ticket in hand to get a autograph fast pass? I ask because my cousin (whose a CM) is going to get us in to the park but will not be there when we are waiting in line for FP (she will be sleeping), and so we will not have our actual tickets until we go in with her.

Also when do you recommend getting in line for FP, I was under the impression it was like super early like 3am, but then I read some people show up at around 5? When would you get in line if you wanted to see Ray Park?
(I really want him to sign my Darth Maul Mighty Mugg :good vibes)

Thanks,
Megan

First of all, May the Fourth Be With You Everybody! :goodvibes

It varies, but recently and last year you just needed to be there early enough to get a Fast Pass. The line for FP was before the turnstile opening.

I hope it's the same again because this year I'll be using YES vouchers and I'll need to exchange them for tickets. If not I would argue logically that if they're going to open up the FP line early and require tickets at the same time, they should have the ticket lines open as well. What would be the use since you'll have to be in DHS to be able to use your FP anyway?

As for Ray Park, I would try and shoot for at least 6 AM. He's popular, and he likes to spend time and interact with his fans. So those with standby tickets run the risk of not being able to see him.

I am doing my best to read through this entire thread (I am on page 30). This is our first time to do SWW. My DD want to know what star wars characters they might have a chance to meet...is there a list somewhere?

Thanks!!

I love the build a droid. So awesome.
Will this be a new permanent thing or is it only for SWW? It would be fun to be able to buy new pieces each time we visit.

I think it's permanent, but I'll go to DHS this weekend and find out more.

If it the same as last year (and the same chocolate cupcake Starring Rolls offers) it will have peanut butter in the middle.

Can I request it without it? I'm allergic.
