Star Wars Opening Weekend...Was the force with us?

We should have gone to the Canadian pavilion. Normally we do. I do work for a French Canadian company so every time I hear "Canada" I tend to think of work however from what I have seen in pictures, it's spectacular. What a beautiful place.

I'm sorry, sarcasm doesn't come across well on the computer, I know As a Canadian, that pavilion bugs me - lumberjacks and totem poles is NOT what Canada is about. Anyway, I digress, sorry LOL

BTW, I wouldn't want to go anywhere that reminded me of work either - you're on vacation!

I have one clock already and hope to add a second to my collection however it's more important to me right now to surprise DH with a Wishes Cruise and if I can swing it there is a watch that he wants in Germany. Don't know if I can but that comes first!

I like the Canadian pavilion. I love the movie. It shows such beautiful scenery. My work friends have sent pictures and I am really impressed with how beautiful Canada is. I've only seen Niagara Falls though. Never made it to any of our offices and we're one of the largest employers in Canada!

I like the movie too - Martin Short is so funny! If it helps any, I've never been further east in Canada than Manitoba LOL At some point, we'll go to southern Ontario because a lot of dh's relatives live there. You should decide that you need to take a business trip to your Vancouver office - then it would be free and we could show you around

I hit the motherload! Last year I eyeballed this hoodie for the entire 9 days that we were there in September. I kept telling myself I would get it before we left. And yeah, they didn't have it anywhere when we were getting ready to leave. DH went to several resorts to check all the shops. I was sh** out of luck and mad as he** that I didn't buy it when I first saw it. Well, there it was, in all it's glory, at the Muppet shop! Yay me!!! I got it and I didn't even care that it was 50 some odd dollars. Yay!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting caught up, so I have no idea if this is already posted, but I wanna see the motherload hoodie!

The Jack stuff was really cute. Seems like they had a lot more this time. What do you think? Was it just me? I wish we had a local outlet store! I'd go nuts. And I'm right there with ya on the losing weight. I have been trying to as well! Good luck with that!

I have prescription glasses that are polarized too. That was the problem. They only had a few styles that I could get with my script and polarized so there you have it....ant glasses for me. I wish I could wear some of the Maui Jim's that I have but I can't see two feet in front of me.

I noticed a lot more NBC and Jack stuff this time! Wait 'til you see what Sidney bought. I didn't say much because there's a little hoody I want for the Winter and now I can get it...all I have to do is remind him opf his precious gift. I am crossing my fingers for bounceback next year. We're planning a vow renewal on our 10th anniversary. It will be awesome if we can get bounceback to save a few bucks! I have been looking all over to see what we can afford to do. So far there are between 30-40 of us going. I'm really considering doing the actual renewal at the Dolphin, which is where we honeymooned. We'd stay somewhere on property though if they offer bounceback. I really want to stay at the Poly but our thought was it would be more affordable if we did, say, WL Cabins since so many can stay in one cabin. Not sure what we are going to do. It all depends on how much we can afford to do. If it comes down to it that we can't do everything we want, we're going to just still go as a group and have a blow out vacation! We'll skip the formalities and do what we can. So, cross your fingers and I still think we should ALL go at the same time!

We have come to the last day of our 4 day vacation. I can't believe my DB's first Disney trip is nearing the end.

We had a very early ADR at Tusker House. I just love DAK when it is near empty. Our ADR was for 8:10. We packed up and left POP a little after 7 I think. We had to haul our crap all the way to the car so I wanted to leave a bit of time.

As we were approaching DAK we noticed that there were quite a few of cars just sitting there at the gates. What was really odd was the massive amount of cars that were already in the parking lot. How did they get in there? Why wasn't there anyone at the entrance booth yet? It was all so strange.

Finally someone came out to begin letting people in. We still had no clue how others got in yet the gates were not open yet. Some stupid lady went up to the gate and started yapping with the one and only CM that was letting people in. Tick tock, tick tock....hey lady, we are gonna be late for our ADR! She was an idiot to say the least. She had no clue where she was going either.

We parked in the handicap section and walked over to the gates. Again, no one at bag check.

I still could not figure out why there were so many cars in the lot and no people. Once we got to the park gate we saw maybe 20 people ahead of us waiting to get into the park.


Once they let us in, DB and I went to check the maps to see if they had one in German for one of his friends. No dice. We then made our way back to Tusker House to check in.

We're almost there! Why is it that it seems like it takes forever to get anywhere inside DAK? Too bad it was so early in the morning. Next trip I'd love it if DB could see Devine!

We checked in and within I'd say 5 minutes they were taking our picture. I have not scanned it but I ended up buying it because for once, it was half way decent.

I just LOVE the buffet at Tusker House. I think it's my favorite breakfast buffet of them all. The sweet potato casserole is amazing here. I'm not a fan of the jungle juice though. The guys liked it but me......not so much. Our server was from Chicago so DB got to chatting with her since he lived there at one time too. The guys were hungry but I didn't want them to go anywhere since I saw the characters were already out an about!

First was Donald.

We decided to get food after Donald since it appeared that we still had time.

Next up was the big cheese himself!

Followed by Daisy and then Goofy.

After breakfast we went as far over to Kilimanjaro as we could get. They were not letting anyone back yet so I amused myself by taking pictures and wishing that I had my SLR with me.

Next up............. Were any animals awake yet? How long did we stay at DAK? Did it rain? Did DH REALLY get lost going to the airport seeing as we have made that trip a zillion times? Did DH REALLY fall asleep behind the wheel on the way to the airport??????????

I will post the next installment soon. I have a cat that just had to have surgery and we are scheduled to go away for 4 days to a graduation and I am scrambling to find someone to give her meds, etc. Ugh, this sucks!
