Are you talking about the new land opening? If so, like you said there's been no announcement, so no one knows what events may surround it or when it might happen. There is no 'typical' because it's never happened before.

Or are you talking about something else? The only other star wars 'events' I can think of are Star Wars Weekends, which no longer takes place...or the Galactic Nights, which is a one night event they hold every once in a while.
