If you see something you really like, do not wait to buy it. Even during the CM previews they have had some issues with with stock. For example for the droid depot they have been running out of the clear domes for the R unit. Also for the day of my preview I wanted this month but it wasn't there, my son went yesterday and found it for me.

What are the color choices for the droids? Is there a list anywhere, or photos, or should I just google it?

If you just Google droid depot outings you'll see plenty of pictures. Here's a couple

I need that mug too.

Ever since I saw that mug from DL it was my priority buy. I was sad that it wasn't there when I went.
From what I've gathered the clear domes are the first to go, especially the clear black and blue with the orange going last

Orange is the one I am thinking of...orange head, red body. Maybe they won't run out of orange domes the first day, since this is going to be my only droid. However, I love the R6 head too.

Thanks! I don't see how any of those are considered clear, I'll try to also google for some close up photos. I think I'll just try to let my kids pick from whats there, and they won't know if something is missing. The hard part for me is not trying to push them towards what I would do - I'm not usually very good at that!

Cool, sounds like the restocking is happening, my appt is @ 9:15AM on the 29th, so hopefully they wont run out before then, any word on Oga's souvenir mugs or the beer flight as I still dont seem them listed??

In the picture with the R units, the last ledge with the 3 domes, orange, blue and black. Those are clear

Man I've been trying to limit what souvenirs to get when I go but now I've gotta add this to the list.

So, brief opinion? I had the droid depot scheduled for me. and Savi's for the hubs. I'm the type that overanalyzes everything so I've already watched everything on youtube and gone over every option/menu/character for all of WDW. I had thought that a droid would be good as my one souvenir and that way we both get to do both things. Now the problem is this. He has his lightsaber all planned out. I'm not to pick anything, that's fine. But he also wants to cooperatively build the droid and quite frankly I'm thinking the saber experience looks farrrrr cooler than the robot assembly line.

If you had to choose between both which would you do? I still see opening on my days for Savi's that I could jump on near his time.

Just managed to get a spot on Aug 30 for my son! now to figure out if they take gift cards, I'd rather not have to use my credit card if I can avoid it. He's very excited, I'm happy it means we'll get in (I think). Was hoping for Oga's but he's happier with the droid lol

Me personally? I'm choosing the droid because I'm struggling to see myself having fun with a lightsaber beyond the build process, but know I will enjoy the droid in the longer term.

In your situation...I might lean harder toward the lightsaber. If the experience itself is a bigger deal to you and it sounds more fun, you should do it. Beyond that, though...honestly it sounds unfair to me that he's going to have full control over his own build but then also want to have input on yours. If you both make lightsabers you can make your own independently of him and get the full experience yourself. Or you could tell him no, the droid is all you and he only gets to watch--that would only be fair if he gets to make the lightsaber without your input.

Also, if you both make lightsabers, you can have lightsaber fights. Food for thought.

Was told that yes they will indeed take Disney Gift Cards.....

But was told the prefer'd payment is the Batuuan Spira ....

He used to be a fencer. I may have to fight dirty... However that seriously tips my favor towards Savi's. Thank you!

Careful engaging in combat with the Savi sabers. I’ve seen reports that they chip/break very easily.

I'm taking a droid. It's $100 cheaper, and I can play with it while I'm there. I've always loved R2D2. There's a nice long corridor in the Polynesian longhouses where he can run.

I'm not sure what I would do with a lightsaber, although they are very very cool. I'm lucky that a friend wants one, so she is building one in November and I'm going to be her plus one.
