I'm thinking about our Vow Renewal and whether we can tie it into the Star Wars weekends.

This won't be until 2013 (I like to plan ahead!), but had a couple of questions!

Are you able to get any of the Star Wars characters at the wedding? I know you can pay for Mickey etc to attend - but would they do the Star Wars Mickey character, rather than the normal Mickey?

Also, does anyone know when dates come out - is it a year before, or just 6 months?

Thanks in advance!

I know you can't do the Star Wars characters because they're not owned by Disney - same as the Muppets. I'm not sure about the Star Wars Mickey. I remember someone bringing that idea up, but I don't remember what the answer was to be perfectly honest.

What dates are you talking about - those of the Star Wars weekends? LMK and I'll look it up.

:goodvibes

I know someone played one of the star wars songs (I think the Darth Vader one) at their exit. It sounded nice on the violin. The clip is on Youtube, but I cant find it right now.

Yes was thinking about doing the Vow Renewal during the Star Wars weekends (but obviously wondering how far out I can book and would need to budget more for the dates!)

Thanks

Star Wars Weekend Dates aren't announced until about 6 months out.(sometimes later) Normally they range from Mid-May-end of June. Some 4 week span. So if you plan the 1st or 2nd week of June you should be safe in either direction.

Star Wars isn't owned by Disney it's licnced so Mickey wouldn't be able to wear his Jedi costume.

Disney probably can't help with that.

If I wanted Star Wars characters at my wedding, I would contact the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion. They do costumed appearances for charities and parades. Some of their members might be agreeable to appearing at a wedding in exchange for an appearance fee.

The 501st is all "bad guys" and they're very, very good. The requirements for membership are that the costume must be movie quality or better.

Some local guys appeared at our comic shop's free comic book day and they were awesome. My 4 year old is a Clone Wars fanatic and he was absolutely enthralled to meet a real live Clone Trooper.
