Star Wars Cruise Question

We are going on a Star Wars Cruise this April. The Disney Store has Friends and Family sale this weekend so I thought I would stock up on gear for my kids. This will be our 12th cruise, but first Star Wars cruise so I have some questions:

1. Is the Star Wars fun limited to just one day?
2. Anything special on embarkation day? (IE- should we do Star Wars themed outfits for that day?)
3. Do people where costumes all day on SWAS day or just at night? I was thinking of putting the kids in themed star wars outfits during the day and costumes at night or do the opposite depending on the feedback we receive.

Thanks Everyone!

Thanks Everyone!
1. The events of Star Wars are only on SWDAS (meet and greets, show, fireworks, dinner, costume parade, etc) but the atrium is themed the whole time.
2. Sure - you can wear outfits on day 1. There was a picture set up in the atrium, Rey's speeder was set up too.
3. Sure you can, though there was a costume party in the mid afternoon in the atrium, but kids and others were dressed up all day. The characters were mingling around the atrium throughout the day, and stormtroopers at the pool several times during the day. Go for it!

Can you elaborate more on the part about the Atrium being themed? What does it look like? Any pictures?

We were on a SWDAS this past Jan. The only decorations in the atrium were a couple of SW backdrops for pics and a couple of cardboard cut-outs for pics. It was in no way decked out like the Halloween and Christmas decorations that they do for those cruises.

I agree with this. A few things around on other days but really the Star Wars fun is on the one day. My youngest did wear costumes every day though and may others did as well :)

The atrium party is a costume parade (or at least it was when I went the first year). Super neat. They have all the folks dressed up parade around so that everyone in the Atrium can see what they are wearing.

There are also lots of photo opportunities during the day, more so than at night. So if it is important for you to have the kids dressed up for photos (and/or Jedi Training Academy), I would do costumes during the day. That is what I do with my daughter. She'll wear her Rey outfit during the day this year (we are going in Feb) and some kind of Star Wars outfit that night for dinner/fireworks.

All three of us (2 adults and our 6yo) wore our costumes all day. People were looking at us funny at first in Cabanas - we were there around 8 - but soon, plenty more jedis, princesses, bounty hunters, scavengers and rebel scum started walking around the ship. We had a blast taking pictures with characters around the ship and didn’t feel out of place at all. The funniest costume was someone in a Star Trek costume with a bubble over head saying “beam me up Scotty, I’m on the wrong ship”

Don't have experience with SWDAS but recent experience with MDAS so it's probably closely similar, so based on that the answers would be:

yes
no
yes

1. It is just one day
2. There is nothing special on embarkation day, but we saw quite a few people wearing Star Wars t-shirts. No one was wearing costumes though. You could dress in t-shirts, or Star Wars themed shirts/dresses. Your embarkation photo would then be themed.
3. Yes. Costumes are worn all day. My teenage son & husband (daughter & I had SW t-shirts) dressed in their costumes, then went to breakfast. They were then ready for the meet & greets (our first one was 8am!).

Thanks for the input everyone! I’m getting more and more excited about the cruise. To be honest, I’ve never seen the movies but my kids and husband are huge fans. I️ know all the characters bc I️ coordinate the costumes/outfits for the family. I️ keep promising them I’ll watch the movies before April!

Here is a link to a video I took of the lobby on Star Wars day while we waited for dinner. There are some other star war videos on my ypu tube channel that I took that day at the pool and fireworks
