Does anyone know for sure if the Star Wars characters are or are not going to be at this year's MNSSHP? I mean, they are releasing a new Star Wars movie less than two months later, and I'd think they'd want to be getting people ready. I guess I'm just being hopeful. My oldest son (wish child 10) will be going on his wish trip around Halloween. He originally wanted to go to a Star Wars Weekend, but he starts puking and other problems above 85 degrees due to his heart problems.

I mean, if they have other villains, why wouldn't they want to have Star Wars villains there? I saw some Mom's panel answers from 2009 about how they've never been there before, but... then again, this is the first time since Disney bought Star Wars that there is a new Star Wars movie coming out. Maybe if enough people ask for there to be Star Wars characters, maybe Disney will have them there? What do you think?

Nothing has been announced. Traditionally there aren't any and while that can always change, I haven't heard any rumors about it.

Will you have a chance to visit HS on your trip? He could (or could he?) still ride Star Tours and maybe get a little pixie dust there with his Wish credentials. I've heard mention here that sometimes Vader or Maul might do a special M&G for Wish kids and such. Hope you have a great trip and best wishes for your son :)

JTA does special meet and greets for Wish families. If you let your Wish advisor know, they can set it up for you in DHS. The meets occur in the landing between JTA and Star Tours and includes Vader, Stormtroopers, Jedi Master, and Padawans (all the onstage cast).

Why would the Star Wars characters be there...?
They won't be there. It was reported during SWW that Lucasfilms is being adamant about character integrity. The SW characters won't be at a "not so scary" party. I've heard that the MNSSHP casting is complete, the CMs have been informed, and SW characters aren't in the lineup.

It's not SWW or WDW but if your DS really wants to meet a bunch of Star Wars characters, you might want to get in contact with your local 501st Legion and/or Rebel Legion. Most of them do special meets for Wish kids or they could tell you when their next local appearance is so your DS could see them. Parades and charity walks are the most common places to find them. Plus their costumes will be just as good or better than the ones you'll see at Disney.

Thanks for all the replies! Yes, he'll definitely be doing Star Tours - as many times as possible, I'm guessing. I was just thinking that since Disney is actually making its own Star Wars TV show right now too (Star Wars Rebels), that maybe they'd have some of those characters out.

We did see the Rebel Legion and the 501st at the local Joliet Star Wars day a couple months ago. The boys loved it! They went in their SW Halloween costumes that they've worn the last couple years (and play in regularly).

What is JTA?

What is JTA?
Jedi Training Academy at HS.
Kids train to be Jedi's
Your Wish adviser hasn't mentioned it?

JTA is the Jedi Training Academy. You Tube it. It's our #1 must do at Disney. Your son will have the opportunity to fight Darth Vader, and I'm certain that as a Wish kid they'll set something extra up for him.

Oh, yes, we know about Jedi Training Academy. I just hadn't seen anyone refer to it by an acronym before, so I didn't put them together. He definitely wants to do it but they couldn't get all three older boys in - only our wish child. Since he knows we'd have to rush to be there first thing AM anyway to get his brothers in, he chose to have MNSSHP as his "special" instead.

Your Wish advisor can still set up the meet and greet with JTA management - it's not a training session. The meet usually occurs in the afternoon after a JTA session and the JTA management and cast are aware of the meet a few days in advance - it affects their offstage time so they need the advance notice.

It really will work out for your family if you ask in advance.
