Star Wars Area at HS

I'm sure this has been talked about a lot. Please forgive me but there are so many Star Wars threads when you search, its hard to make heads or tails.

We're going to DW in mid-December. Haven't been since 2008. I know a lot has changed but I can't get much clear information on what is/has happened to the Star Wars area at HS.

What all is being done? When is this happening? When will things be closed and open? What area is affected (Pizza Planet, etc)?

Just there a couple of days ago:
Attractions closed:
Backlot Tour
Lights, Motors, Action (will close in April)
Lightning and Mater M&G
Phinneas and Ferb M&G
Pizza Planet
Honey I Shrink the Kids play area
Writers Stop snack area and book store

There are lots of construction walls up along the back part of the park.

New Star Wars stuff will not be done in that back area (looks like that's where it's going, but could change) until at least 2019.

There is quite a bit of Star Wars stuff in the park already if you head over to the old Animation Courtyard. There you can find a Chewbacca and Kylo Ren meet and greet. If you have a Disney Visa there is a special M&G (it was Kylo when I went through it). There is a making of Star Wars film. There are displays of props from the movies. You also may find different characters walking around, I got to meet Jawas. There is also a great Star Wars gift shop there where you can buy a $6000 costume.

Lastly, there is a movie at the old Sounds Dangerous theater that shows Luke's journey.

I noticed you are going in December, be aware Osborne lights is no more. Last year was the final year for it with Star Wars Land being built in that area.

And they have not made an announcement yet, but pretty good chance Streets of America will be closed. They have already been doing some prep work in that area.
