Of course it came with a price increase as well. That's a nice little change, wish they had those options when I went.
The SW dessert party was upgraded on Oct 1st and one of the changes was the addition of beer and wine.
There is a chance that the forecast is correct, but I would ignore it for now. Unless they can tell that there's no chance to put on the show within a reasonable time, they'll delay it first. It's rare that a show is cancelled outright. We are passholders headed down tomorrow through Monday. We have tickets to this Friday night (October 6th), our first time to try it, and the weather doesn't look good (unfortunately it looks bad for the entire weekend). I have heard that all shows are cancelled if there is lightning. What is the scenario in the case of a prepaid dessert party? Does the dessert party go on, just no fireworks show? Do they cancel the entire thing and issue refunds? TIA!

I would think that the price is based on when the party takes place and not when it's booked. $79/$45 are the latest prices.I booked this for my trip? Would the price increase apply since I have already paid?
Thanks so much, this is very helpful. We will try and enjoy no matter the weather. A rainy day at Disney is always better than a sunny day at work!!There is a chance that the forecast is correct, but I would ignore it for now. A ticket to the dessert party does not guarantee that a show will take place. From MDE "Entertainment is subject to change or cancellation without notice."
The dessert party takes place no matter what, so no refunds. If the show is cancelled, they will offer guests a limited time rain-check at the viewing area, but that doesn't always work due to various guest factors.

Last October 1 we went to this dessert party and an awful storm moved in with torrential rain and lightening. Looking at the radar I knew the fireworks would be cancelled. A manager brought the bin of mugs inside to handout (since that wasn’t happening outside). I cheated with her and while she didn’t say it would be cancelled I knew it would be so we left. We enjoyed the party a lot but sadly left the park (my daughter’s birthday). It was our last night at Disney and a couple days after we got home I got a call from guest services and they refunded all of our money. I actually tried to argue since I knew it was no refundable and I told them I didn’t expect a refund at all. They insisted and the money was credited to my account within a day or two. Oddly enough someone called the next day and tried to refund my money again. I declined and explained that someone had already done so. I just want to say that while hey tell you it is nonrefundable it isn’t necessarily the case and I never asked for one!
Thanks! We were there with you. It was actually the first full day of our trip. We got refunded too. We actually did get rainchecked and got to see the fireworks later that week (and wound up running from them to Fantasmic because that was our Fantasmic night- but we did both). They somehow had not gotten our raincheck on the list the right night- but they had told us to bring our lanyards when we came back so we had them with us and after the CM went to another CM to ask, they let us in even though we were not on the list. They refunded us too. We found a voicemail at home when we got home from vacation. I called them to tell them that we had been rain-checked, but they said it was already done and not to worry about it-- that was right after the Hurricane Matthew shut down- so there were refunds going all over the place. We did not leave like you did. The storm had passed, but it was park closing time and they still cancelled the fireworks even though the storm was over. They did not announce the cancellation until the storm had passed. I'm wondering if that had something to do with it- maybe there were a lot of people mad that they had waited that long and the storm was over and they still cancelled. In any event, it was really nice for them to give refunds even though we had the full benefit of the dessert party portion.

Interesting. We left the dessert party and walked right on toy story. They let us ride twice in a row. I now know that isn’t necessarily a good thing because my “trigger arm” was killing me half through the second ride. We walked out of a deserted park past the sad empty veiwing area in torrential rain and waited in the longest bus line I have ever experienced to go to carribean beach resort. We had umbrellas but were soaked to the bone. We did meet a fun family who sang happy birthday to my dad daughter which cheered her up a ton.
