Star Trek XI

Also, I'm a huge fan of Firefly, so it was funny to see the Browncoat reference in the Wiki article.

<---- Browncoat!

Anyways, I enjoyed the movie immensely. It was one of the best movies of the year in my mind.

I couldn't understand what Uhura said her first name was....anyone?

I am not ashamed to say I cried like a baby during the opening scene. I never cry (except during Disney animated films). Trek got me.

Yeah. The opening scene got me too.

As a fan of the TV show Enterprise I got a kick out of hearing Scotty say that he had been banished for doing teleportation experiment on "Admiral Archer's prized beagle." It took me a few moments before I realized who he meant. Then I yelled out. "Oh, no! Poor Porthos!!"

:)I wonder what the next Star Trek movie will involve Khan or will they do something different?

I feel silly for even asking but was Simon Pegg in a few epsiodes of Doctor Who during 9's run? I blame cleaning out the tivo and seeing him.

I was surprised by the movie because I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I thought that the characters were quite well done and the story was exciting.

The only thing that troubled me a little was what happened to Vulcan. I don't know why but I didn't like what happened there.

People used to say that only even numbered Star Trek movies were any good but it looks like that's no longer true!

Hi Planogirl!

I loved the movie and was also disturbed about what happened to Vulcan.

I would definitely pay to see these actors in a sequel. I don't care what it's about.

I grew up watching Star Trek (with my older brother). My DH watched it, too.

We LOVED the movie! Saw it twice on IMAX, then bought it. I like it better and better every time I see it.

My DS12 is turning into a fan. I picked up some of the old Star Treks on DVD for him. He's had a lot of his friends over to watch the movie.

Loved "Out of the chair", lol.

Also loved, "I like this ship! It's exciting!"

Thanks for explaining the beagle reference, JodyLyn - that I didn't get.

I read that we can expect a sequel in 2011 (I think it was; either that or 2012). Bummer. Seems like a long time to wait.

ETA nope, June, 2012. Many of the previous stars have already signed.

lol imagine Pine's Kirk shouting Khan nothing will top Shatner's performance in The Wrath of Khan such a brilliant Star Trek movie:thumbsup2 anyway I thought Karl Urban has Bones was excellent and so was all the other cast members were good:):thumbsup2

I downloaded the audiobook of the Star Trek movie. Right at the end in one of the transporter rooms one of the transporters activates and to everyones suprise an beagle with odd looking ears appears!!!!!!!!!!!!
:cool1:
