My Ds(5) says he wants to go on this during our next visit BUT he is the BIGGEST ride whimp! LOL He hates anything that makes his belly feel funny-like Splash Mountain. I've explained to him that the seats don't move like a roller coaster but they move to make you feel like you are flying in the ship. I don't remember this being an "extreme" ride but would you say his belly might feel funny? I told him he could always close his eyes if he didn't like it. The other thing is I read somewhere that you could do the ride without the seat motion-anyone know about this? Maybe he could try it that way first. I don't care either way if he goes on this-HE wants to but I'm a bit hesitant!

I really dislike both Star Tours and Body Wars because I'm not a simulator fan. I need to feel the air rushing on my face if I'm having a roller coaster-like experience, or else I start feeling claustrophobic and queasy. So, yes ... Star Tours could well make him feel a bit nauseous. As long as he's aware it might happen, then you should be fine. Of course, he also needs to understand that if he doesn't like it when it starts, he's kind of stuck there until it's over. But the "closing your eyes" thing works. I've done it!

:earsboy:

Star Tours is much smoother than Body Wars and its fairly tame. Give it a try :)

I hate thrill rides. I went on a log flume ride once and almost lost my lunch. I've never been on a roller coaster. With that said, I braved both Body Wars and Star Tours and felt fine. Star Tours was very tame. I kept my eyes closed during most of Body Wars because, let's just face it...I could never be a doctor. :crazy2: That's my long-winded way of saying: I think your ds will be fine.

I believe the simulator rides - Star Tours and Body Wars have one row or maybe it is a couple of seats at the end of a row which are fixed - they do not move at all. You still may experience some "motion" sensation because of the special effects on the screen.

hmmm...how is this possible?

the "room" you are in is one big simulator...you're like 20 feet off the ground once you are seated...

I've seen pictures of this thing...no matter what seat you are in - you are going to feel movement.

each set does not move - all seats move as one - make sense? so it's not like Shrek 4D where you are in a theater and each seat moves...in Body Wards and Star Tours you are seating in a simulator and THAT entire thing moves.

make sense?

(but closing your eyes and/or looking down at your feet helps with a queasy tummy!)

I have a problem with the simulated rides(body wars much worse than Star Tours) I can take any roller coaster you can put me on and I love The Tower of Terror, but for some reason these things bother me.

I remember someone posting last year that they "rode" Star Tours without the motion. Apparentely there is a "capsule" that they will keep still if asked to do so-not sure of the specifics. Anyone know what I am talking about because I sure don't! LOL:confused:

I think he will be fine on this ride for some reason but I can never be TOO prepared!

I have heard of this also, and my guess is that you need to ask a CM about this. However, I think he will be fine in the with the motion. Star Tours is a tame attraction, and I think it would be fine for you all.
