I'm thinking of going on Star Tours with my DS this trip. I'd like to know how big the spaceship thing they put you in is? Are you in any type of elevator thing in the pre show? Here's why I ask- I did Back to the future years ago in that other park and didn't like the elevator to get to the time machine. Also if I remember right, the car was kind of small. So any Star Tours info, send my way!!

Star Tours seats 40 people per ride simulator, and there is no elevator to get to the ride. Hope that helps!

DD6, who does NOT like Star Wars (she kept looking for the princess) LOVES the ride. She even told her kindergarten class that it was her favorite ride at WDW.

Back to the Future and Star Wars use similar mechanics achieve their effects but the actual design and layout of the rides is very different. In Star Tours your located in your own spaceship with about 40 other people or so and you see a screen in front of you that fits within that ship. Since you've been on Back to the Future, you know how that one is, you see different cars and the screen is a large one in a large warehouse type building.

For years though, rumors have circulated the internet that Universal would soon close the attraction and replace it with something else. UO President & CEO Bob Gault told the Orlando Sentinel on more than one occasion that he’d like to replace BTTF with another story & vehicles which guests could, in his words, “relate to better.” As far back as 2002, Universal’s semi-popular The Fast & The Furious film series has topped those rumors as the choice to replace the attraction, but now various unconfirmed online sources point to a non-Universal property set to take its place — The Simpsons.

There are things to see that are Star Wars Movie like the way to the attraction. We love this ride. When the ride is over there is a Star Wars store to shop in. When my SGS 6 got off the ride there stood one Dark Vader's Fighters (dressed in White) i can't remember what they are called, from the movie holding his gun. My DGS though he was a prop and said,"he's not real!" and reached for the gun. The clone moved toward him and several screamed!! We laughed so hard. This was right before parade and the only time I have seen that happen. It made our day, I could not get the camera ready for a picture, only in our minds.

Star Tours is my son's and one of my niece's favorite ride. I must have been on it 12 times on our last visit. My sister could not handle the flashing lights, so she sat outside and waited for us. We never had a wait over 5 minutes, so ride it during EMH or after dinner(~6:30). It is like a ride simulator. The que to the ride is worth stopping and looking around.

Stormtrooper. He must have been one of the 501st. :) Was it during Star Wars Weekends? Man, I would have LOVED to have seen that!!!!

I was lucky, my first trip to the World in '97 characters still came out there throughout the year, and I got my picture taken with Chewie and an Ewok.
