Star Tours to get Episode 8 scenes

That hi resolution image literally made my jaw drop & a tear fall.

I'm so happy and I am still 40 months away from going!

I'm still wondering what their plans are for Star Tours beyond Star Wars land, especially at Disneyland.

There's an outside chance it goes away in DLR - the DHS one will be here to stay. Even with two new lands that park is still going to be remarkable thin - they won't remove it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It's still a good attraction and it's a lot easier to integrate into the land at DHS. The DL version intrigues me though. Hopefully something else will take its place, even if they use the same system but a different IP.

Will be interesting. With new content and new movies coming I can't see doing a change to Star Tours just because it's in the wrong place is high on the priority list.

I'd like to see the DHS one integrated in some way and kept. DL will be more interesting but at this point its a classic (30 years old) so I'd vote to just leave it.

I wonder if they might change Disneyland's Star Tours into an Iron Man ride like Hong Kong is opening. That simulator type ride seems like it'd be pretty easy to change into almost anything. They'd just need to pull props out of the queue (then give them to me).

Well maybe its a wait and see right now on Star Tours... Star Wars land may prove to be even more popular and transformational than even both Potter lands and that may make the top brass think about converting more areas into more Star Wars themed areas... Muppets might get the axe 5 years down the road.. Never say never with Disney. That said, Star Tours is gonna seem so old once the new stuff opens up.

But I guess that would have the same problem as Star Tours. It's clear that they are building a Marvel land in California Adventure, so having a separate Iron Man ride in a different park would be kind of weird. As you say, Star Tours is very easy to re-theme though. They can pretty much pick any other IP and turn the ride into something else.

I have to say though, even if Star Tours is a classic ride, I'm really open-minded about it leaving for good. It's a good ride, but these days we have technology that is a lot more impressive in terms of simulators.

I have no problem at all with rides leaving if they are represented in another US Disney park. I know others will disagree but I prefer when parks don't share rides. I'm so sad Walt's original vision of all new dark rides in Disney world's mk didn't come to pass.

That's why I personally wasn't too upset when the demise of DLs tower of terror was announced. WDW's is better anyway with the randomization.

Anyway, I'd hope that dhs could keep star tours, if for no other reason than the outside with the ewok village and the at-at.

I too am intrigued about what they will do in DL. Only thing I can think of is Star Wars land is supposed to be this unique, new planet whereas Star wars is like a "Best Of" from the actual movies. You could almost have it like Start TOurs is a preview/promotion area for visiting the Land ... kinda like the 360 degree movies in EPCOT are a promotion for visiting the actual country

Rumors say both Disneyland and DHS's star tours will get redone in some way.

Personally i don't see how Star Tours can stay once STE is open as i feel it's going to loose the emersion to what they are building now so I'm fine with it going away as it's always going to be in Paris which isn't getting a Star Wars Land
