Star Tours & motion sickness

My DH has always suffered from motion sickness. He got sick just riding in a car. As I've gotten older, I can't handle some motion rides and neither can our DD20 or DD17.

We heard about the ginger tablets on this board so we bought the Ginger Root tablets at Walmart before our trip at the beginning of this month. We had read to take them twice a day every day starting the day before your trip.

We rode Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Thunder Mountain with no problems. I rode Expedition Everest and the Tower of Terror (my DH was feeling sickly - not from motion sickness though - so didn't want to ride). We didn't have time to try Star Tours again but we are hoping to during our next trip.

I am telling everyone I can to try them. They worked for all of us!

I notice someone mentioned the "patch" that you put behind your ear, I always use Dramamine (non-drowsy). One pill lasts 24 hours. I don't get the dry mouth that is associated with the "patch" with this. :wizard:

Another option is the wrist bands that many use on cruises, although I find these warm and uncomfortable.

The dramamine non-drowsy worked for the motion sickness but we still got drowsy.
 
Ask to sit in the front row - it cuts back on motion sickness substantially.

My father was very quesy the first time he rode it (he was somewhere in the middle).

However, (thanks to a Diser) on the next trip I requested the front row. He did not hardly feel quesy at all afterwards.
