I read here previously some info about when Star Tours might be closed for a revamp this year, but now I can't find it. We were going to plan a trip the first week of December, but my older just son has been talking non stop about getting to go on Star Tours, so I may consider bumping it up. Any info on the timing of the ride going down?

Thanks!

From what I've heard its going down in July or August and it won't be back until next year, May or June right in time for Summer. But it won't be the same ride this time, its the newer revamped sequel. And its supposed to be in 3D also. Hope that helps :)

Well that's a shame; Star Tours was one of my favorites there.

Are they basing the upcoming revamp on the re-releases of the movies in 3D? If so, I hope they fire that RX-24 droid.

Its harsh that it is going down for so long, but personally this is going to be for a "Good" long... If you know what I mean? ;)

This ride is amazing, but it is seriously outdated and is in dire need of an updated movie. Disney has been threatening to do this for awhile now. I hope they dont really touch the queue though. That is one of my favorite queues, and its pretty neat with all the robotic effects everywhere around you. Never a lack of things to keep you occupied when in line.

Whenever it comes, the Star Tours referb is badly needed. The film in the attraction is worn out, as is the exit queue. The carpets and wallpaper are falling apart and getting worse day by day.

That looks like the Podrace through Mos Eisley and Beggars Canyon from Episode I.

The new ride is expected to randomly generate a selection of over 200 scenes into groups of five, so it will never be the same ride twice.

That is very exciting! We just rode it 5 times on our last trip - lol My young padewans love all things Star Wars!
