If I get a FP early in the morning and the return time isn't until later that evening let's say, am I blocked from getting another FP? Or is there a 2 hour window to get the next FP?

Do you mean a FP for another ride or the same ride? I had two FP's out for different rides a few times. You can also miss the return time window and they still let you on no questions or problems.

One you are issued a Fastpass, you are eligible for another one in the same park after two hours after the first was issued OR the return time on the ticket, whichever is shorter.

So...if you get a Fastpass at noon and the return time is 5pm, you are eligible for another at 2pm.

If you get a Fastpass at noon, and the return time is 1:30p, you are eligible for another at 1:30p.

If you get a ST FP and the return time is for several hours in the future, you may get another FP for another ride in 2 hours. But you cannot get another FP for ST until the arrival window on your FP is reached.

For example: At noon I get a ST FP for return time of 10pm. In two hours, (so at 2pm), I can get another FP for say, Space Mountain. But I cannot get a FP for ST until 10pm (but there won't be any FPs for ST left at that time).

That is why getting FPs earlier in the day is better, because if you are among the first to get a FP, your return time will be much earlier, allowing you to collect many FPs.

For example: I get a FP for Space Mountain at 8:01am with a return time of 8:50am. I can now get another FP at 8:50am instead of waiting two hours. Note that I can also get another Space Mountain FP, because the arrival window was reached.
