Staples penny sale

Just spent $6 and some change, but I will be getting $4.99 back in my Rebate.

They told me about Teacher Appreciation Day which happens to be while we will be in Disney. Oh well maybe next year.

angeleigh, when is teacher appreciation day? What do they do for it?

Thanks!

Teacher Appreciation Day usually happens around the middle/end of August around here (our schools start back then). Check out http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/tad_2008/?storeId=10001&cmSearchKeyword=teacher+appreciation+day to see when the one in your area is.

I get to Staples first thing when they open, because the goodie bags go fast (an employee hands one to you, I think I had to show my Teacher Rewards card). Typically you get a cloth bag with a plastic folder, pencils, a highlighter, pens, and I can't remember what else. There might have been coupons for teacher items as well. The one year they had a table out with calculators and nicer pens that you could pick up as well.

YAY! More stuff today!
Between the DD, the SO and myself
30 folders
6 packs pencils
6 things of Purell
=
45 whole cents
It just makes you feel good to come out of the store with 3 bags of stuff for that price.:goodvibes

One more trip later this evening for 2 more limits on it. DD and myself. She is getting a kick out of paying for things.:rotfl:
They are almost out of the Purell already.

Like I said in a prior post, I need the Purell for party favor bags and I will donate whatever I dont need for the brat or myself to the Salvation Army for their back to school supply program. I will have to be on the lookout for the other sales. OH! and thank you to whoever posted that the sale only lasts till Wed. I didnt pay that much attention to the ad.

My Staples had a coming soon sign for back to school, I love the penny sale. I hope they have it soon, then I can also get my pens I use, and more memory cards at the same time. I can't belive I almost already used up a whole 2 GB card this summer already.

Great deals, guys. Though I'm kind of bummed that I can't get them too. I went to their site to find a Staples location, but the closest one to St. Louis is 70 miles away. You'd think in a big metro area like St. Louis, we'd have one. :confused3

:cool1:
Went and purchased in Texas on Sunday. It was great, but the manager was checking me out and told me that they will be doing this weekly until school starts. So keep an eye out on my sunday paper for the 1 cent sales.

Just got back from Staples this afternoon and got the last 2 hand sanitizers in the store. Between the 2 trips, we ended up with 6. Can't wait to see what is out for next week.

Went today. Bought the binders, Purell, pencils and only 2 folders since I have left over from last year and they don't last long. The highlighters were sold out since yesterday I was told. they had a lot of everything in stock. They also had 6 pack of 1 subject spiral notebooks for $1.99. Going back tomorrow for more Purell.

The one subject notebooks will go on sale for around .10 each. So don't get the 6 pack for $1.99!

I got my 2 limit hand sanitizers,2 packs pencils,10 folders, and 4 binders.Highlighters were sold out.

But when I went to Walmart they had spiral notebooks for 5 cents so I bought 10, pencil cases for .50, and glue (either liquid or stick-2 pk)for .25 got 2.

We're homeschoolers and they let me use my teachers rewards card to get the teacher supply.

I got 25 purell, 25 folders and 25 pencil packs. I forgot about the highlighters! :(

My Dad & DH each got the max 10/2/2 of the items too.

We share with our homeschool group, donate to church school supply drive and put them in operation cmas child boxes.

Rite Aid has the spiral notebooks 5 for $1 right now if you *need* them, otherwise in the upcoming weeks they'll be probably 10 cents each at Target and likely other stores. I think Target had them packaged 10 for $1 together last year. Rite Aid right now you can buy them individually - if that makes any difference to you.

There are limits on the amount of items you can get. I wonder how they got away with buying cart fulls?
I went this morning, forgot my teacher ID :headache: , and was only able to buy 2 of the pencil packs, 2 hand sanitizers, 10 folders and 4 binders. And they definitely had PLENTY! I will be going back tomorrow with my teacher ID, which I was told would enable me to buy 25 of each...

I actually went today and was able to get pencils and folders.

I saw how the cart full works today. A woman had her husband and 2 kids with her. They each pulled their limit out of the cart and got in line. After the woman paid, she waited for the kids to pay and took that stuff out to the car while her husband paid for his limit and watched the cart. Then they did it again and again and again.
I was very surprised she could to that but no one said a word.

I was directly behind them in the only open line and I finally asked the husband if I could go in front of him after their 3rd trip since I had just a few items. He was nice enough to let me. I was wondering what they would do with all that stuff. I hope they gave a bunch to needy folks. :thumbsup2:

Actually I can't believe you had to ask for your turn to get through the line. If someone in that family didn't have manners enough to offer, I think the cashier should have said something.

Personally I think that's really pushing it.
No wonder some managers have started setting stricter guidelines.

Btw, that would never work with my kids.
I thought DD was going to die of embarrasment when I made her go through the line to buy 2 Purell's without me.

DD: "You make me do such lame things, I bet no one else has to do this. Why do we need more than two anyway?"

I think I need to make her read this thread when she gets home.
:lmao:

Did anyone else notice the paper they had for 'sale' by the case? If you homeschool, that might interest you.

Buy 2 cases of Staples brand paper at $38.99 each ($77.98 total) and get a rebate, in the form of a Visa cash card, for $38.99; making each case of paper (10 reams) $19.50 each.

I got 2 cases for DH's office and I want to go back and see if I can get 2 more...we go through a lot of paper at home, too. :3dglasses

Wow! Today we did the staples run. We purchased 74 folders, 54 hand sanitizers, and 54 packs of pencils for a huge total of $1.94. I felt so guilty, but dh and myself both teach so we were able to get the limit of 25 each. What a deal!!!I can't wait to make the back to school bags for my students and also for our church youth group.
