Standoff at international gate

Oh you didn't get the memo? Apparently everything this poster posts is hilarious and if you don't think so you are a party pooper with no sense of humor.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No big deal! Personally, I thought it was a funny story, but most of the time, my opinion is in the minority.

I'm tooling out of international gate at Epcot

When I get to the scanner a CM stops me and says I can't leave with that scooter, it is for use in the park only you will have to take it over there and turn it in.

He's thinking it is a Disney scooter.

Then he gets a bright idea and asks me if I rented it from Disney

I ask him what the big sign on the front of the scooter reads.

He reads it out loud. "Buena Vista scooter rental"

He lets me go. My wife is watching me from a distance. She asks me what that was about.

I'm sitting there laughing telling her I was giving a CM on the job training

How does one make that mistake? I've yet to see any Buena Vista scooter that looks remotely like the grey behemoths the parks rent.

Was this a relatively young and green CM (aka college program kid)? I've seen a few make some bonehead snap decisions. Annoys me until I remember my nieces and nephews about that age and are prone to some really naive thinking as well.

Yes, he was young. And we both laughed about it.

What was funny about it was if he looked at all the Disney scooters parked at the return station he would have seen the slight differences. Four wheels to my three and gray to my red.

no....... most likely a young "college program" kid just trying to do his job for min. wage and will get sent packing if he messes up.
ive seen a lot of people, even cms (remember they are human)make a mistake. the way I see it the cm wasn't sure and asked and got a smar... a.. comment from a sma.. a.. guest. :sad2: if it was a 6'3" 280lb security guard (not the badged uniformed guards) I bet he would not have gotten the same response.

I usually don't comment on such threads but I guess this one really ruffled my feathers. I laugh at myself often so I can see the humor but stuff like this is so unnecessary.

It must be really nice to be so infallible as to never make a mistake! It must be hard being so perfect and having to put up with the annoyance of dealing with us mere humans. I don't know how you do it!
