I am a full time wheelchair user but last Saturday in Disneyland, I saw something that was a mix of a standing frame and a wheelchair. It was NOT a segway or anything like one. It had four wheels at the corner of the frame and the person was upright by means of a stool type seat built in.

Does anyone have any idea what I was looking at? I am interested in it for me. There was a website on the side that I think ended in ...motiom.com but I am not sure. I've never seen anything like it but I am supremely interested! !!

If I am right a Florida mayor tried to get into Disney with it and they wouldn't let him

Was it similar to this I know their a couple people who make it.

No it was not a standing chair, that is, a wheelchair that can stand up. Ot was more like a standing frame that had been adapted for outdoor use, though NOT manual self propulsion.

Something like that, though it was clearly something made for outdoor use - there were big 10 inch wheels on it, and it was not propelled by foot - the person using it had foot rests. It was a box frame with a stool/seat in the middle of it. I could not see if it was powered or if the person walking with their hand on the front was pulling it. It basically looked like a standing frame that someone put a stool and footrest in. But it did allow the person to be standing height. It looked like someone who did not need to be strapped in, like most standers. In fact, it looks liked a standing transport chair built like a standing/walking frame. It is hard to describe - it was probably someone's prototype.

I wish I had gotten the website off the side!

My DD has a gait trainer like this, but it is not easy to get into, so is not what you were thinking of:

I've never seen anything like that that was self propelled. I wonder if someone took a standing frame and added things to it?

This device was made for walking and may be similar or may work for you:

It has a seat and does not secure the person on the seat - it is made to easily get in and out.
