Standby line at park opening for 7DMT

Since we weren't able to get a Fastpass for 7DMT, I thought we'd try heading straight there at rope drop. We'll be there on a Thursday next month. In this scenario, how long can we anticipate waiting in line. Is it comparable to doing the same thing the first years of TSM?

If you're among the very first in the park and head toward teacups, then left to mine train, you'll have a minimal wait. If you're not there early for rope drop or walk slow, it grows quickly and I'd put it about 30min-1hour wait.

It's easy to do with minimal wait. Just make sure everyone's up early, arrive well before rope drop, and take path to the right of the castle (don't go through castle).

Depending how early you're there for rope drop and how quick you walk will determine if you'd be looking at a 5 min wait or 45 min wait

You need to be at the front of the rope drop crowd. We have been there at rope drop and by the time we walked back there, stopping to take one photo on Main Street, the line has been 45 minutes to 60 minutes. We had FP+, so it was not a priority for us and we weren't rushing there- we are always just looking to see if it was short enough to jump in line. That line builds fast at rope drop!

Have you thought about grabbing an early breakfast at BOG?

This is very accurate.

Get to the park as early as you can that morning. If the park opens at 9 try and be there by 8:20 at the latest. They usually open the park around 15 minutes prior to the given time. You don't want to be at the back of the mob waiting to get in, you want to be at the front of it. The vast majority of guests head to 7DMT so you want to be one of the first ones in that group.

We've had good luck being able to ride twice during the last half hour of operation on several summer nights. The posted wait could be 60-90 minutes but the actual wait is often 10-15. Using this strategy, the longest we've waited was 20 minutes during opening week in 2014.

I can't justify showing up 45 minutes early just to wait outside a closed gate when you could ride 2x in less time later in the evening.

We had BOG yesterday 10/20. We were done and out in the park by 9 and the wait time was already 35 minutes. The line was forming all the way down by the teacups for standby. Luckily we had rode it a few times during the Halloween party so we skipped it. We were able to do all of NFL and Storybook circus by 11am. Had Tommorowland complete by 130 and back to the pool by 230. Good luck. Parks have been super crowded this week. If you are able to. Get BOG reservations go as early as possible. We had 845 but were already eating by 820. As long as you have the reservation you will be let in.
