standards and the DDP?

Just wanted to get some of the opinions from people who have been to Disney recently.

Do you think it is true that the meal/service quality has gone down with so much interest in DDP?

We are headed down to Orlando in Dec (we are not doing the DDP) and I am hearing that the food quality, portion size and overall service is not what it used to be... whats your thoughts?

I will be trying the DDP in October.
But, during my recent trip in August I noticed menu changes and wasn't happy about them.
I had fine service, although wasn't on the plan.
I didn't notice any portion differences either.
So, it will be interesting to see what happens in Oct.

You might want to check down a few pages in the forum. There have been a few threads asking this very question in recent weeks. Folks might feel that the topic is beating a dead horse, at this point, though, 'round here, we love doing that sometimes.

1) As mentioned, there has been a lot of talk.
2) In fact, there have been a lot of formal dinner reviews of DDP food/service.
3) All you can do is go and judge for yourself.
4) Recently, the notes and reviews have been
. . . menu items are being reduced
. . . the numbers of specialty menu items are getting scaled back
. . . many restaurants now serve similar menu items
. . . restaurant differentiation is narrowing
. . . service is suffering, as servers KNOW they get 18%, regardless of service
