We usually stay at OKW, but this time we are staying at BW. I just made our reservations and they didn't have any standard views.

Can someone please tell me the difference between the two. Also, any favorite rooms that I should look for when we check in. We are in a 1 bedroom.

DH still wants to stay at OKW, but I made him change. I hope he likes it.

Thanks!

Deb

Standard view is mostly along the entrance drive leading up to the registration area. View is of the drive, parking lots and some nice landscaping.

Preferred View can either be Preferred Boardwalk View or Preferred Pool/Garden view. Since you didn't say Boardwalk View, I'm assuming you have a Preferred Pool/Garden view. That view will most likely either be of one of the two pools or the canal with the Swan & Dolphin on the other side.

unless you want a fairly long walk to the elevators - be prepared to look at that silly clown.....

the main pool views are close to the elevators. this is also what most of the preferred view are located.

ask for near the elevators - of course if you don't get it - this place has plenty of steps.... their staircases aren't the best - but you can get around faster than walking back and forth to the elevators.

there are 2 differences ..the cost of points and views..the rooms themselves are exactly the same and because of the lower points for standard they book quick.

Thanks Everyone! We'll make sure to ask to be close to the elevators. We usually cook inside the villa so how do you carry all your groceries to your room. At OKW your car is right outside. Is it really different?

yes - the parking is not close.

I go to the grocery store then I use valet parking and bell services to help with the luggage and groceries....

you don't pay for valet parking - but you definitely need to add the tip....

Some preferred views face the valet parking lot---but I believe these rooms are the ones that are farthest from the elevators (ours was almost at the very end of the hallway). We weren't impressed with this view, but it was nice and quiet down there to look at the bright side.
And, yes, as for the luggage/food......utilizing Bell Services is the way to go at BWV because the parking lot is quite far. After we checked in, we realized we left one of our bags out in the car. It was pouring rain, but Bell Services was nice enough to drive my dh all the way out to the parking lot in one of those golf carts. Def would have been a royal pain to have to walk all the way out there. We use our car alot while on vacation (shopping offsite, visiting relatives, resort dining). We do use the disney busses for theme park visits.
So for us, depending on valet constantly was a little bit of a pain (and alot of tipping !). But if you rarely use your vehicle while on vacation you should be fine.

Lower points for the standards, that's why they book up quick. Hard to get at the 7-month.
