OK so now that I have the reservation...is there a certain longhouse that would be best to request?? I am not really sure of the set up and have not seen a whole lot of info on this yet. Thanks in advance!

All we really have at this point is the map of the resort -

DVC Artist's Rendering

Here's a map of the resort before conversion - maybe you can find view suggestions for the Poly resort using the old building designations:

Polynesian Resort Map - Old

You could end up in any of the DVC buildings ready for occupancy, even though only a portion of them have been declared into the condominium. FWIW, I'm thinking the landscaping will make all the views nice. It's hard to tell without actually seeing what they will do with flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. If we're lucky enough to get in, I'm just going to go with whatever pixie dust the assigners decide to throw my way.

I wasn't going to take the chance on the standard parking lot view. One longhouse will have one side that will face the parking lot...they should've made that side value rooms....the rest will actually be garden views...except the one side that will be lake view. We were lucky, lake view was open and this will be the only time we will most likely stay there.

We did a lake room for two nights in May before we go to SSR for a GV trip with my wife's parents and her brothers family. Does any one know what the view will look like. IE can we see wishes at night from the balcony assuming we get a 2nd floor room to see over the bungalows? Our DD loves fire works, but the boom scares her. We hope being a little further away will help her. Any one have a pic from a lake view room pre-dvc

Only about 40% of PVB's 20 bungalows and 360 studios have been declared for the DVC inventory but, as CarolMN posted, DVC members could be assigned any of the villas ready for occupancy. According to Tikiman, the Tokelau Longhouse should be ready for occupancy around June 1, 2015. The east side of Tokelau offers a garden view and the west side overlooks the Poly's Leisure pool.

Tokelau is a bit closer to the Great Ceremonial House and the main pool, and overlooking the quiet pool might add to its attractiveness. However, in the near future, the quiet pool will be undergoing a major renovation. Tikiman reports that Disney will start the quiet pool renovation after the main pool has reopened (which should be around April 1). The quiet pool work should continue until early next year.

By the way, only one side of Pago Pago faces the parking lot. It has 76 studios, so no more than 38 out of PVB's 360 studios will have the parking lot view. For those people who have a car, Pago Pago would be a bit more convenient than Moorea or Tokelau
