Standard view boardwalk villas?

How awful is the standard view at the boardwalk villas if you can get it? The points are so much less. And is the boardwalk view really that loud?

We enjoy the standard view at BWV. We always request away from elevator, as some of the closest villas to the elevator overlook the noisy luggage area. Our last standard view villa had a nice view of a small pond, and we could watch the EPCOT fireworks from our balcony.

Standard view villas can be hard to reserve at the 7 month mark if you don't own at BWV, but not impossible. I have reserved them a couple of times, but always in the slower DVC seasons.

We have only stayed in the BW view once, and had a top floor villa. It was almost at the end of the hallway, by Jellyrolls, and we had no issues with noise. I have heard that the lower floors hear more boardwalk noise than the higher floor villas.

Standard view (DVC Points) is along the front drive and front entrance to the resort. It comprises about 20% of the total resort. They are not usually available for cash.

The view that is advertised for cash reservtions is called standard, but it is the same as the preferred (non-BW View) view. Pool/garden view.

We had a standard view this past November and it wasn't bad at all. We never heard much noise, one night we heard the horn from the boat coming back from Epcot/HS, but that's about it. We didn't go out on the balcony to much as we weren't always in the room alot, but the view wasn't bad, saw some workers the one morning & a few cars driving.
