Standard studio BWV @ 7 month...

ever available, ever? Just curious...
Are there certain times of the year where you'd be more likely to get this?
Anyone succeeded by being on a wait list?
If you book preferred can you ask to be placed on a standard view wait list?
Anyone have success with this?

I have called first thing at the 7 month window. I wanted a standard view studio. I had to get on the waitlist but it came through within a week.

Did you call day by day or 7 months from check out?
What time of year was it?

We had a BWV 2 bedroom booked for Nov. 8- 21, 2003 but then later, my just-graduating-high-school son and I decided to go by ourselves for the week before. We booked an OKW studio for our back-up plan. I told them to waitlist each day individually but the whole week came through and they automatically cancelled the OKW studio. The week we got was for Nov. 2-8, 2003.

I just got a standard view BWV studio for the very popular DVC time of early December, at 7 months! And this was after I'd called at 10 1/2 months (even though I couldn't book there, curiosity) and a CM told me that BWV (as well as VWL) was already booked solid for standard view studios. So I was sure I'd have to waitlist at 7 months. Imagine my pleasant shock to get one! So miracles do happen.

We currently have 2 BWV standard studios booked for next spring break (11 month window). We intend to change to OKW at 7 month, if available, so our 2 BWV rooms will then become available. There must be others who do this, so I think you may well have a good chance. I would call right at 7 months and at least get on waitlist, to take advantage of rooms freed up by folks like us.

A few years ago we called in January and got a BWV std. 1 bedroom for 5 months later (late June).

Last year (2002) we called in January to add 2 nights onto our November trip and had to be waitlisted. We booked preferred view to be safe. One night came thru in late October, the other never did.

All our other reservations have been made 11 months out and we've always managed to get a std. view. One of these days we've just got to break loose with some of those points and get a pref. view.

last year I called in October for a December studio - I say I would take anything - OKW (staying there in a 1-bedroom before the weekend), BCV, VWL or BWV it must be a studio - they had a standard view studio at BWV (they only studio they had at the time). so yes sometimes you can get the standard view even closer to your stay. Just don't count on always getting the standard view - this was a Friday night and alot of the people won't stay at DVC resorts on the weekend because of the extra point cost

I had to get preferred view 2-bdroom in June 2001 at 7 month and hated to use the extra points! When we got there, our view was far from "preferred" but CM at front desk would not do anything. Called MS when we returned home and they gave me back the point difference from standard to preferred. It was our first trip out of our home resort at OKW since we joined in 1994. Made us really appreciate OKW! We are trying BCV and hope to have a great experience there. Will not return to BWV, just did not like the attitude of CM's we encountered.
