In the grand sweepstakes, what does it mean by standard room? Does that mean a room at a Value resort, which I have no problem with at all, just asking?

A standard room means that it doesn't have a view or in a preferred location (depending on which resort you're staying at). For example we're staying in a standard room at the Port Orleans Riverside. It basically means we'll have a view of the parking lot:lmao:

My strategy is to stay in a deluxe resort, but to take a standard room, which will be the lowest price room at the nicest resort.

My view has been parking lot, woods, garden, courtyard and every once in a while, I'll score an unexpected upgrade to a water, savannah or theme park view!

So, basically, the standard room will be the lowest price category room at any of the many WDW resorts.
