Assuming both are available is the lake view extra points worth it at both resorts? I’ve been a member a long time so I know how availability works and that neither may be available. Just wondering if both are which do you prefer for a studio? Save points with standard or splurge on lake view

Lake view at the Polynesian is amazing. I usually do a split stay with standard and lake view to save points. At the poly, you get theme park and fireworks view with your lake view and the rooms are brighter during the day because you are facing the lake. Last trip , when I booked standard we were in the Moorea building and even during the day we had to have lights on because it was dark In the room, but not when we had the lake view room.
The Floridians lake view is nice too but not as nice as Polynesians in my opinion. I would say if you see yourself sitting on the balcony , then it’s worth it. Also don’t forget your mosquito spray.

Another vote for the lake view at the Poly. We have had studio lake views at the Poly a couple of times. On our last stay in July we had two studios in Moorea - a standard view and a lake view. The standard view was darker and quieter (no ferry boat sounds). The lake view to me is full-on immersive Disney. We could watch the ferry boats, fireworks, electric water pageant and just stare at Magic Kingdom any time of day.

So if the room is just a place to sleep, a standard view is great. If you are going to hang out in the room more, go for the lake view. For the lake view,
make sure to request an upper floor room and keep your fingers crossed! The view from the first floor is pretty much just the bungalows.

Another vote for Poly lake view. We spent a week in Moorea last year and it was one of my favorite rooms/views we've had on property! We'd walk along the beach with the lit tiki torches each night going back to our room - it was so peaceful.

I can say that the lake view at VGF is well worth it. In the 2 photos below, one was from a studio, the other from a 1 Bedroom (sorry the photos are sideways). I asked for a view of the EWP, and got a beautiful one.

Based on what you and others have said, I did book our next two VGF stay as lake views! Can’t wait to see what we get in November.

We had a lake view at GF in august and were able to watch the fireworks from our balcony. It was amazing! Try to request corner room and higher floor. We were on floor 3 I believe

I’m a light sleeper, and I love poly!! I will never book lake view again because the ferry horn was awful. I own there and love it, but I need more sleep so always book standard.

Another thing to consider is you may get first floor at the Poly. I have been there 3 times but last time we were first floor and we had a great view of the bungalows! Third floor is awesome, but first floor not so much.
