What is the worst walk from the standard view BWV studio to the main lobby - where my guess is the bus stop, close to the refillable mug area, and the laundry.

I have read it is 1/2 a mile, and others say 1/3 of a mile.

Can it take 20 minutes to walk from the end of the BWV buildings to the main lobby?

Please tell.
The BWV studio rental is less expensive than our beloved Dolphin.

We had the very last room on the third floor, and it was a walk. We'd just stayed five days at animal kingdom kidani village and had a room decently close to the lobby. We moved to the Boardwalk and had a fifteen minute walk to the lobby. Did not enjoy how far our room was from everything.

15 minutes is not too bad for us.
Is there a door to the outside at the end of the last building with a walkway path to the buses ?
If it is not raining, it may be a nice walk.

We have stayed in the far left wing of the Dolphin and the elevators are in the middle of the Dolphin. It took us 10 minutes to walk down 2 long hallways to get to the elevator and then wait 5 minutes for it.

So if 15 minutes is the maximum distance to walk, we can have a wonderful DVC rental rate from Davids ;)

Thank you so much for the quick reply !

Also I forgot to add, DH does not like the AK lodge area.
Too far from his beloved EPCOT and DHS.
That is why we have mostly stayed at the Dolphin.
We tried a moderate, Coronado, but DH again hated the open door to the outside, and a bus to everywhere.

When we stayed at the Contemporary, our DS & DD were in their early teens and wanted to be close to MK. The mono-rail was great for DH to get to EPCOT.
So our stay was a win-win.

Our next visit is just us, DH & DW, so back to the EPCOT area.

I don't know about using a door out to the buses but only cause we stayed there at the end of our vacation for close access to Epcot and didn't take those buses anywhere else. But if fifteen minutes walk doesn't bother you, you should like the villas there. We still have young children and it was the end of our trip. The walk was a little too much for tired legs but for the two of you it wouldn't be too bad. We love the Epcot resort area though And are trying out the beach club villas in December for five nights. If our room hasn't been so close to the lobby at AK, I think we wouldn't have felt such a huge difference at Boardwalk.8: still happily stay there again, but I'd do everything I could not to stay that far again. Hope you have a magical vacation!

We took the stairs to get to the bus stop but I can't remember if we used the stairs at the end of the hallway or if there was another set. There is a set of stairs mid-hallway which lead to the clown pool.

The quickest route from a SV studio at BWV to the bus stop is to exit at the door near room 1123. From floors 2 through 5, use the stairway nearest your room and head in the appropriate direction to arrive at this exit or go to the stairway that exits to the Luna Park Pool and enter the corridor from the stairwell rather than going outside to the pool.

If you come back to the resort on the bus and want to enter at this door into the building, walk across the street from the bus stop and follow the walkway along the pond to the entry door. You will need your magic band or a key card to open the entry door.

From the farthest studio at BWV, I could walk to Epcot in 15 minutes. If it takes you more than 5 minutes to get to the lobby, you’re doing something wrong.
Agree! We almost always stay SV at BWV. Never takes us more than a few minutes to get to the lobby, bus stop, or either pool. If you aren't traveling with strollers, ECVs or wheelchairs, use the stairways. They make great shortcuts to almost everywhere you need to go. :)

Love the location. DHS & EPCOT are about the same distance from the midpoint of the standard view wing. For us, it's about 15-20 minutes. We're both seniors.

I haven't been to BWV yet, but we are booked standard and I actually requested a room close to the tennis courts. I'm not worried about the walk.

If the hallways are truly 1/3 mile and the average person can walk a mile in 20 minutes at a relaxed pace, than it shouldn't take more than 7 minutes from end to elevators. And it's probably faster.

I categorize these answers like the "AKL is SO far away from MK it took us 45 minutes to get there" No it didn't. But people will FEEL like it takes longer when it's a boring/tedious task or if there is waiting involved ( like waiting for the bus or elevator).

We have stayed SV more than 10x. We love it! We request the farthest room, closest to tennis courts. The walk to the bus stop is pretty short if you use the stairs, as mentioned above. The walk to the lobby is around 5 minutes.

We will let reservation decide where our Standard view BWV studio will be
Our only request is not ground floor. Unless there is no one walking by.
We like the idea of a balcony - even just to dry towels or sit outside one evening.

Yes we will use Davids 1 year in advance with our reservation.
Then we get to plan our no children WDW magical vacation !

5 minute walk is fine - we walk every weekend at least 1/2 a mile.

Thanks for all the stairway ideas

We are not disabled in any fashion.

thank you

Is the best standard view at the tennis court end?

Make sure you don't hang your towels over the balcony, just over a chair on the balcony. Nothing is supposed to be hung over the sides of the balcony.

We have stayed SV at BW a couple of times now. Each time it felt like a little bit of a hike, but really my biggest complaint is how COLD the hallways always are. Bring a jacket, even if it's the middle of summer. Everyone is always shivering waking to their room.

We owned at Boardwalk for 18 years. After the first few trips we booked Boardwalk view every time. There were many trips where we had the very last room next to Jellyrolls. The walk from that room to the lobby took no more than 5 minutes. I assume the farthest standard view room would be the same.
